Some on twitter have mentioned, if Dwight can't play in the All-Star game, and Pop is head coach of West he could designate Duncan as starter.

I said if Pop is head coach and it comes down to VDN and Pop because Brooks was coach last year.
Spurs have to be ahead of Clippers on Feb 1 for Pop to get it. Just fyi.
Duncan has to be a lock. Last night, TP said that Duncan has been the best bigman in the NBA ... which is true.
TP should make it and I'd be shocked if he didn't. However, there is a chance that he doesn't make it -- like if coaches mostly went with Harden/Westbrook as their guards and Curry and a big as their wildcards.
Is it just coaches who vote for reserves or is it the media as well?
Didn't he do that in 2011 when Yao was a voted starter (yet of course only played 5 games that season)
Duncan has been sitting out games for a sore left knee (same knee he wears a brace on) and people still what him to play in the allstar game vice resting for that weekend. Makes sense.

IMO him being snubbed wouldn't be so bad, because last year he missed the All-Star Game and went on a tear post All-Star break. Of course, the problem is that he's playing great ball in the first half of the season.
Not surprised. He's averaging roughly what Chris Paul averaged last season but with more turnovers.

Aldridge is a bit of a surprise. Don't think he deserved it, IMO. Hopefully that knocks out someone like Lee rather than Parker, tbh.
