I was seriously thinking. Which is really better? With the way Diaw is so passive, an rebounding sucks. I feel Bonner really tries hard though. An yes he disappears at times but aint hes #1 in the league shooting 3s? Your thoughts

There is a reason the Spurs went on a 20 game win streak after the Spurs acquired Diaw.

Dude hasn't even played a minute in the NBA, and you're already crowning him as our best backup big? Diaw is more versatile than Bonner, despite his infuriating passiveness.

Diaw is a creator, he's on another level compared to the system guys like Tiago, Bonner, Blair and so on.

What he can't really do is rebound, I will agree on that which is why I'd like him to slide to the 3.

Maybe if SJax walks next year, he could be the backup 3 evn tho playing at the 4 next to what should be a great rebounder in Baynes could be very good as well.

Why is Baynes being rated as who is better as a back-up bigman...when he hasn't played yet? Or are these people basing it off his stats in the other leagues?(which is unfair)

I'm not saying Baynes won't be good, b/c I'm hoping he will, but I just don't understand why they are comparing them when he hasn't even played a game in a Spurs jersey yet.

Diaw was guarding LeBron when we played Miami. That speaks volumes

Diaw is by far the better play he can shoot, pass, and his rebounding while lackluster is alright when he is actually trying how many of you soon forget how important he was last year and will be in the playoffs again this year, all in all compared to Blair and Bonner Diaw is a godsend for this team we were stuck with Bonner and Blair as our bigs until he came along with Jax and gave this team new life.

How many passes have you seen Diaw make outta a easy layup? Or wide open shot passed up with a pump fake, drive, an pass out.

If Diaw wants to be a balletic passer and also be effective he had better be able to do SOMETHING gritty. You cant just do the fun stuff and expect to win.

How many of those turned into an assist? Sure he's passive and sometimes too passive but you think Bonner is better? gtfo

Blair is too small. He can't handle playoff basketball. He can do absolutely nothing unless he's setup perfectly. His defense is horrible and he's an average rebounder at best. Next.

Bonner gets a bad rap because he doesnt do the same in the playoffs, with the three pt shooting, that he does in the regular season but Bonner will score more, rebound more and do the gritty stuff in the paint more. Diaw will pass better (obviously) and perimeter defend better.

In the end, Im dissapointed with Diaw this year and pleasently surprised with Bonner's toughness.

diaw is the man. he's perfect for this team. his passiveness creates 3s for the 3 shooters and easy buckets for the cutters. then he can turn around and cut or 3 himself. he has off nights just like anybody else on this team, but he's fine. bonner is a more consistent 3 shooter than blair is a cutter. i say spurs need to get white from houston while blair's lookin so good, and white so bad. white could likely be another diaw. imagine that depth. you know it spells back to back championships for timmys swan song, dynasty if he plays the player option year. if baynes can catch ally's like i've read about in some thread he'll be the cutter blair needs to be. everybody always says defense and reboundin translate well from college to nba, i'm sure same goes for euro to nba. a white/baynes battle for 5th big = wins and good times for spurs fans.
