I have a degree of discomfort when someone calls me that. No more than other derogatory words though. I do however, see it's usage every bit as racist as someone calling another a niggеr.

as for the cracker thing, I thought they were subsumed more generically as teamsters, as in "I'm just a good ole Florida cracker."
