It takes a lot more than 30K to raise a child anyway, and I'm sure there's ways around it if you're legit. Getting over the fact that you can't have children of your own is a tough thing to do, and those that are able to do so and stop feeling sorry for themselves have some serious mental resolve. If you can help out a person in need and get what you want(a child) in return, you're doing everyone a favor.

Are you implying that adoption is impossible without putting down 30K up front? Are you really saying that there's no payment options, ways around the fee, etc? Because I would find that really hard to believe.
It is a tough pill to swallow. It's also reality, and you either deal with it or live out your existence feeling sorry for yourself instead of being useful.

Pretty sure all the money is due before the adoption is completed. Most sites that I did a quick search on seemed to infer that. I also remember one of the couples that I know that did look into adoption talked about not knowing how they were going to afford it.

If you want a blue eyed, blonde haired baby - yes, it's going to cost you money. There are hundreds of thousands of kids that are waiting in foster homes that aren't so "coveted" that would love a home and they'll go to you for relatively nothing but a couple court hearings and load of paperwork.
As someone who works directly with children in the system I will say that while it is easy to say you want a child out of foster care it's much harder to do in reality. Most people go into it with the best intentions possible but don't understand the magnitude of what they are getting into. The majority of these kids have been removed from the home by CPS because they were abused or neglected in some way. This can cause severe behavior problems in the kids that the parents aren't prepared to handle. Deprogramming a kid that has behavior problems stemming from abuse or neglect can be a long process that can take years and requires a tremendous amount of patience and unconditional love.
So while I agree with your premise in theory, I don't think the foster kid adoption is right for everyone.
