Aquino can do way better then that, Villareal isn't even on the top 3 spots which would make them not descend.
Mexico really needs Vela tho, De Nigris hasn't been all that and Peralta hasn't either, Javier and Vela would fit perfectly.
Only Javier and Vela can say their having good seasons, plus their playing with better compe ion and still holding their own which is more amazing. Not getting him would be a big mistake.

Hes one of the best players we have but at some point you draw the line, Chepo cant be begging him. The group is more important tbh, the Olympic team didnt have all the best players Mexico has to offer and they did fine. I know the WC is another level but Im not expecting to win it all Id be happy with finally getting to the quarters tbh.

The English-language coverage will complement Univision’s popular Spanish-language coverage of the Mexican Team on broadcast, cable and interactive platforms.
As part of the agreement, Univision Deportes and ESPN have secured the U.S. media rights to all of Mexico’s home matches, both qualifiers for the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil and international friendlies, in Spanish and English respectively. The alliance will also allow Univision Deportes and ESPN to collaborate on special content focused on the Mexican National Team.
The series of 20 matches will begin Wed., Jan. 30, with an international friendly in Phoenix, Arizona, vs. Denmark at 10 p.m. ET (in Spanish on UniMás/Univision Deportes Network and English on ESPN2/WatchESPN), and conclude with the team’s last match before the 2014 World Cup.

The lineup proved that de la Torre still doesn’t think his young stars are ready. Neither Diego Reyes nor Jorge Enriquez saw the field -- at this point they’re both long shots to contribute significantly to the national team anytime soon.
Instead of Reyes, Hugo Ayala had a solid outing at center back next to Maza Rodriguez, and looks clearly like the third choice in the middle. In central midfield, for better or worse, de la Torre is sticking with the veteran leadership of Carlos Salcido.
With a tough year on tap, it’s easy to understand de la Torre’s approach. Reyes’ summer move to Porto could mean a short-term struggle to maintain form, and Enriquez without a doubt still needs some conditioning at the highest levels. But the young pair has proved their critics wrong at every turn. They won’t be able to do that for de la Torre unless they get a chance in games like this one.

Jamaica for the most part has had almost THE WHOLE TEAM in the back, and are relying on long passes and Mexico's mistakes to try to sneak a win... it's shameful. I want to believe this team is rusty?
No rust It's tactics + players that don't belong on the national team. 442 with peralta and cheech up top doesn't work. He needs to go back to the 4231 or a 433. and stop playing these ty players like salcido, aguilar, reyna..
That's why i was saying during the friendlies why doesn't he play any of the young players instead he plays tosb's... like fernando arce.. a few months ago we still had Torrado and Sinha on the team..

It's a shame we still view the USA as our rivals, a country that sucks and has been atrocious these past few years while Mexico has been on the rise at least in the younger tournaments, because the mayor one hasn't been all that.
Also Fkla, I remember you saying that ending up with a victory at the Azteca would be an impossible task for the opponent, Jamaica didn't win, but they sure were damn close to. What I'm trying to say is that the Azteca doesn't matter, it's not a protecting shield for Mexico, a team like Honduras or any African team that goes in there with the "giving your all" mentality will make it hard for Mexico, just imagine if teams like Germany or Spain, or the very own Argentina who's having a spectacular season play in the Azteca, they won't go with the same mentality as the African's, they'll expect a win because their simply better, that's why it irks when the Mexican media over hypes locality, hey it won't mean if teams are simply better than you...
I was being sarcastic with the USA comment. That was a terrible showing by Mexico tbh, no way around it. I still think the Azteca is a huge advantage for Mexico though...teams that park the bus on their side getting a tie doesnt change that. I dont think they would only lose 1 qualifying game ever if Mexico was in Conmebol like they have here in Concacaf, but theyd still be pretty dominant at home imo. If Ecuador can make it to a couple of WCs simply because of the advantage Quito gives them I think Mexico could make it simply because of the Azteca too.
