Tony Parker will go for 30+ tonight.
Tim practicing yesterday and at shootaround today is encouraging news. Obviously not the best news but this can be expected when you're dealing with a 36yo with knee issues. At least it happened during a favorable time in the schedule, where Pop doesn't have to play him.
Like Bruno said, I'd feel very bad for DeJuan if this was the beginning of the end for him. He played great during the b2b and was hoping he'd be able to play for another 3-4 years with another team.
Tony Parker will go for 30+ tonight.
I'm thinking Tiago is going to go off tonight. Could mean a lot of TP assists.
Blair's definitely in trouble. If Baynes looks competent tonight, then that would hurt Blair's playing time even if he comes back fine after this injury. I don't know if any team would trade for him now with his obvious limitations. He's probably most useful as an expiring. A team can move a player on a post-lottery rookie deal that they don't want to pay next year. Perhaps the Wizards would be interested in trading Singleton for Blair and the rights to Hanga?
As far as Blair's future, I think he can continue to stay in the league in the capacity he's in now. Even with his weak knees, he's still good for a game or two. That has value to a team who needs to rest starters often, like the Spurs.
Damn, timvp may have been right bout Blair's knees.....that sucks.
Damn Timmy's still out? Ugh
he was limping a bit in his last game
If Blair can maintain his conditioning and be ready for those occasional games, like Mills is doing right now, he will be valuable to any NBA team. He is affordable and can go off on some nights. How many big men his age have put up gaudy numbers like he has done in occasional games? Sure he is short for his position and not as good defensively as we would like, but he is still an NBA player. And he works hard, has a pretty good at ude, and the team likes him.
Logically, it makes sense to keep Duncan out for this game and probably the next game. I'm sure a lot of us are anxious to see him play just to make sure it's not something that will hinder him from staying at his amazing, time-defying form. Going through shootaround, IMO, is a great sign that it's nothing too horrible. But, yeah, we'll just have to wait and hope.
As for Blair, this sucks for him. I've been holding out hope that it was his ankle that forced his struggles ... but this makes it seem more likely it's his knees. I'm assuming he can have good games here and there after an extended rest but any type of consistent use of his knee will cause it to swell. IIRC, this is the first game he's missed specifically due to a knee condition in either college or the NBA. Whatever bounce his trade value got after the Mavs game has now gone away ... and then some.
Maybe next time Pop has to say TD is questionable he can give us all a big wink and a crooked grin, that way we won't lose any more sleep over the big guy?
As others have said, since Duncan is going through shootaround, I'm not too worried. They'll probably keep him out tonight and Saturday against the Wizards. A nice long mid-season break might be exactly what he needs to continue his brilliant season.
As for Blair, I'm thinking a trade for him is about to be finalized.
Absolutely sucks for Blair. Hope he gets back soon. And why in the world do people assume Baynes will be good? It's like people don't realize this guy will be trying to fit into Pop's scheme, which will be very difficult, atleast defensively.
I talked to Blair the other day, he said he if he gets traded he would like to go to the Rockets, Knicks, or Bobcats.
Something like this?

Because Baynes comes from the Australian national team which is coached by Spurs assistant coach Brett Brown who uses the Spurs system and plays. Theoretically, Baynes already knows the system and what to do, he just has to get used to his teammates
Yeah, and I talked to Tim Duncan a few minutes ago at his house and he told me that he's taking tonight's game off so he can sooth Amy.
I talked to POP last week and now I have the ing flu.
And YOU are a complete dip w/ equally ty takes
My advice...STOP POSTING
You mean the system he plays under quite a bit with the Australian national team? Like Patty Mills?
Damage to any part of your knee can cause the painful buildup of excess joint fluid. Examples of traumatic injuries that cause fluid buildup in and around the knee joint are:
- Broken bones
- Meniscus tear
- Ligament tear
- Overuse injuries

IIRC, this is first Blair health report about knee trouble.
That should do it!
pop and duncan are taking 15 days off to train baynes behind the scenes. the washington game is the last they'll skip. notice how they both vanished right when baynes arrived? he is getting a crash course lesson from the big fund and the goat coach. tim will rage when he returns from 15 days game-rest, but his shot will be a bit rusty at first.
blair is out b/c a trade is imminent.
coach bud is auditioning, but for the seattle job, not the future spurs gig.
