In before the inevitable ' Pop for playing him in this game' reactions.
Clearly you were thinking it. Why bother bringing Timmy back?

And moments later MKG is taken out on a stretcher and rushed to the hospital in an ambulance. What a day for the NBA injury wise

True. After the replay I felt the rolled ankle looked as bad as the knee

Looks bad, nearly 90 degree bend of that left knee, but it looks like Webster took his right leg/ankle out first and Duncan had started to fall a little which might have reduced the weight/damage to his left knee. Still can't imagine him being back anytime before mid-march. Hope he's better a few weeks before the playoffs so he can get his conditioning and rhythm back

What was Pop's real motivation in benching TD against Miami?
Wondering, since resting TD in that game, presumably to prevent an unnecessary injury in a relatively meaningless non-conference regular season game and then only to turn around and allow Tim to play against the Washington Wizards doesn't make sense.

I don't know how bad this is going to turn out, but RC has got to start working the phones to see if we can get another big. At this point, Blair, Neal, Green, and even Jax are expendable if we can get a decent big in return.

That's awful, never want to see an injury like that happen to anyone, especially not an all-time great like Timmy....

My original feeling was that Duncan shouldn't be playing, but after taking a moment to think about it, it's an illogical thought..

Duncan was healthy enough to return, he looked fine prior to the injury, he wasn't going to sit out forever..a game against a ty team makes more sense for a return, as it presents a nice opportunity to shake off rust..in addition, the Spurs were winning by 20+, which means Duncan probably would have rested most of the 2nd half..

If the freak injury hadn't occurred, we would all be discussing the great idea that was bringing Timmy back for this game, tbh..

How long is Pop supposed to sit Duncan out? The original plan was for TD to return last Saturday against the Suns. Pop held him out longer since the Spurs were winning and to buy Duncan some extra rest. Eventually Pop has to let him play. It's not like the plan was ever for Duncan to skip every "meaningless non-conference" games.

This injury was just a fluke. It sucks but not much anyone could have done now ...

The first thing that popped in my head was Tom Brady's ACL tear tbh. Looked like the same motion and reaction from Brady/Timmy.

Please let me be ing wrong.

You are wrong. Brady didn't walk on his own and had to be carted off right after. Still, RC better be on the phone ASA INGP and see what the trade market is like now for a big.

That was the Spurs 4th game in 5 nights IIRC..

Let's just hope that he'll be fine, rather than finding a person to blame..

We all remember incidents like Brady's and others, but there are also many examples of injuries that appeared much worse than the eventual diagnosis..wait and see, tbh..
