This is just flat out disappointing. Moral victories about the almost come back don't matter. We had a great team this year with all the tools to win it all, but just didn't make enough plays this game.
I'm really disappointed in the goal line playcalling at the end there. not to be results oriented, but with Gore/Kap and the best OL in the NFL, it seems like you simply have to run there and ride your strength.
This is a sad time in Niners nation. I take solace in the fact that we have the best roster in the NFL and will be around for the next 3-4 years. but this hurts.
as for the Ravens, they earned it... but something about this doesn't feel right. Does anyone feel like they were the best team in football this year? I guess it doesn't matter as much as simply executing for 3-4 games in the playoffs, and that's what they did.

Unlike last year with the Giants, the Ravens truly were the best team in the NFL. Don't forget they started off 7-1 and the injuries caught up to them. Unlike NE's & Denver's fools gold records, the Ravens finished it in style.
I truly believe the Ravens would've beaten the Giants had they advanced to last year's Super Bowl. Their defense is amazing.
Ghazi, wrong about dem SF.calling a team that was getting blown out the best roster
![]()
Kap might be better next season, but the Niners will probably have more injuries to deal with. Their depth was untested this season and they won't get that lucky ever again. It was fluky how few injuries they had this year.
plus they get stronger seattle and st. louis teams to deal with next year.
Not even the best roster in your division, Seattle's is better....
Kaepernick will be tested by the Black QB curse, tbh..
Doug Williams had an under .500 record following his SB appearance and eventually lost his job..
Steve McNair never reached the SB again following his only appearance..he eventually became depressed, leading to DUIs and trouble in his personal life, subsequently dying in an embarrassing incident..
Donovan McNabb choked in the SB leading to a downhill slope in his career..he got fat and stopped giving a , tbh..
Can Kaep's White parents keep him motivated and mentally strong?..we'll see, tbh..
Kap won't be the problem for San Fran going forward, tbh. Their lack of depth and reliance on staying completely healthy all season will. Their secondary is also mediocre at best and even when it's completely healthy relies on an elite pass rush to make plays. Idk what their cap situation is but they can't afford to lose any starters on defense because every starter they have plays every down with no depth behind him.
49ers will also have the SB loser curse to deal with next season. Teams who lose the SB are cursed for the following season. Kaepernick also looked scared out of his mind at times tonight and he failed on that final drive.![]()
what about the SB winner curse?Giants
Giants then Broncos.
There's no curses or issues for this Niners team. They have the best roster in the league and it's not even close.
However, the Seahawks are just as good as us and are in our division
Ghazi, I'll bet you 1000$ that neither Seattle nor SF will win the SB next year, tbh..you have until September to accept, tbh..
There's too much parity in the NFL to say anything about the future, but Niners will be fine for the next few years.
The roster is widely regarded as the most stacked in the NFL. The only issue could be to find a replacement for Justin Smith in next few years.
But again, too much parity. Could lose their 1st playoff game, could win the Super Bowl. The early contenders look to be the Niners, Seahawks, and Packers in the NFC.
Obv a bad bet for me. Too much parity in NFL.
This isn't like the NBA, where taking the Heat v the field this year would probably be a good bet. ANY two teams v the field is a bad bet in the NFL.
Kaepernick's last 3 plays were atrocious..NFL coaches will have figured him out by next year, tbh..
ELIte would have easily converted one of those final throws, he's probably the most clutch QB of our generation..
I wish the Broncos had Eli this year, tbh..even at safety instead of Rahim Moore..
Kap got doomed by the playcalling. they shoulda just kept it simple and lived and died w/ the zone read w/ Gore.
timmytozo:
nobodys stopping the Giants this year
nobodys stopping the Broncos this year
nobodys stopping the Packers in the NFC
Oh no Matt Ryan lost a game, he's no longer elite
Either Kap or Flacco will be elite based on the outcome of 1 game
lol Kap has never been close to an elite QB, Flacco just morphed into an elite QB
comparable takes to BRHornet.
Timmy2Zo has already proven he's the best prognosticator on ST and arguably on the entire Internet, tbh..
If you aren't familiar with his work, use the search function..his World Series prediction was legendary..his Miami Heat predictions were on point..he predicted the Giants would win the SB when everybody counted them out, including their own fans..
Sure, he's had a few false predictions, but his percentage s on anybody else..when he drops knowledge, I listen, tbh..
Ghazi's takes are so terrible he changes them 10 posts into his own thread
"SF has the most stacked roster"
others chime in "no they don't Seattle is just as good if not better and thats just in their division"
"Oh yea, you're right"
Wrong about dem Niners.
Gotta agree with Harlem here...Kaep impressed me a lot (after a closet Niners fan killed the power grid), but he has a lot to work on b/c NFL coordinators only need a little under a year of game film to figure out all your tendencies. Kaep is exceptionally mobile, but his footwork is absolutely atrocious in the pocket. His big arm bails him out of a lot of telegraphed passes too, b/c of the zip on the ball.
Harlem, it didn't take a wizard to predict the Heat would win a le last year. Jesus.
