@YahooSports: RT @WojYahooNBA: Pau Gasol felt a "pop" in the bottom of his foot, on crutches now. Getting an MRI on Wednesday.
Definitely NOT a non issue. It's extremely painful to even move the foot. Timmy was out for quite some time with this.
Serious issue. Without a healthy Gasol, you have no trade bait. Or if Kupcrap decides to keep him, no consistent low post threat, since that monkey Dwight either gets stripped or reinjured every time he makes a move in the post.
If there's anything serious then it's a blessing in disguise that it happened before the trade deadline. God has shined upon us again.
We flipped Kwame Brown into a prime Pau Gasol...there's definitely a taker out there for his gimp ass
How?
Gasol can't co-exist with the chimp. And no team is going to gut their core (which I know Lakers fans were counting on. Some dip GM handing over all his youth for Gasol) for a 30 year old big suffering from PF and making 20 million a year.
Yeah. If Gasol had any trade value before it's sure as gone now.
But how is it a blessing in disguise?
Wouldn't you rather have him healthy and playing well to attract better offers?
Gasol's value just plummeted.
He also heard a "pop."
What's your diagnosis, Deadly?
Could that signal a ligament tear?
What I meant is it's better to have him injure it now before the trade deadline than to have his PF flare up after the deadline--where he becomes nothing more than dead weight. We'll be able to unload him if need be...there's always a taker. I'm also confident something will happen b/c the NBA can't afford to not have the Lakers in the playoffs.
KEVIN DING @KevinDing
Pau heard "a pop," and if his plantar fascia is ruptured, a reasonable guess would be him missing six weeks or so.
I honestly don't know the extent of his PF...if it's something he's had for awhile, that "pop" could just be scar tissue (similar to what happened with Antonio Gates)--that's not very likely, but just an optimistic viewpoint
I got ya. But I think one of the reasons the Lakers are not rushing Dwight back and heavily featuring Gasol in the post lately is that they're auditioning him. After his 23-10 game at Detroit, I'm sure Mitch's phone was heating up. Now, I just don't see any GM (although, I'll never put anything past some of these idiots) giving the Lakers more than 25 cents on the dollar for Gasol, like a scrub and a 2nd round pick.
Especially considering how much money they will be saving LA in the process ..
Can we just take a moment to appreciate this?

and just like that all the Lakers troll are gone again
Over/under on the number of profanities that have escaped mitch kupchak's lips in the last hour?
He's stuck with an injured Gasol now, tbh.

Kobe said he's "very, very concerned, to say the least," about Pau's injury.
Lol it's not a matter of finding a taker. A guy with a torn plantar fascia will not be able to pass a
a physical and thus no trade involving him can be completed
Not true. A guy could be dead as long as the other team ok's the trade knowing about the injury.
Surprised the Lakers haven't done something like that yet. Claiming Len Bias off waivers and then trading him for a star. Mitch should sell that to Dan Gilbert. I'm sure he'd be more than happy to trade Irving for the corpse of Len Bias.
SWEEEEEEEET. Whose ass is that?
yes we can
