GREAT move by the G-men. The Giants backfield situation reminds me of Buffalo's in a way. Both have super-talented backs (Spiller, Wilson) that don't get enough carries b/c the HC is in love with the fossils ahead of them (Jackson, Bradshaw). Giants will be much more explosive on offense this year--a scary thought.

Running backs are a dime a dozen and the Giants had cap constraints. Andre Brown and David Wilson both averaged over 5 YAC last year and we so fine as a platoon next year.

How so? His best days are behind him, he's a fumble-machine, inconsistent, and he's stupid. Wilson fumbled his first carry of the year and was in the doghouse for HALF the season after that. He still managed to shine in the return game (most all-purpose yds in one season in Giants history), and excelled when given his limited # of carries. He also costs roughly 2.5 million less and is 4-5 years younger. Losing Canty sucks, though.

Bradshaw was the X factor in all their success, it is true that there's a gazilion running backs, but he was special in making the offense move when the pressure was strong.

lol X-Factor...one of the gayest terms/phrases created by ESPN. The reason the Giants won their SB's is b/c they had clutch play from the QB, good receivers, and one of the best defensive lines in NFL history. What playoff win can you attribute in any way to Ahmad Bradshaw? Don't for one second think about mentioning SB 46 either, as it was HIS stupidity that gave New England a chance to win that game. btw, his playoff career high in rushing yds is 74. X-Factor.

it's not about the big games, it is about the small gains when they are needed.

Oh, so in other words you have no tangible evidence of this perceived value? Last question for you: When the Giants won the SB last year, what were they ranked in rushing offense?

They'll miss his blitz pickups/pass blocking

pretty much... aside from the pass rush bradshaw has always been the most annoying part of their game.. just when you thought you could get a stop right there, he just kept getting those first downs... i've seen him do that this year too, it is true that he's old and injury prone, but there's no doubt in my mind that with a healthy bradshaw the giants are a force, while without him, they can struggle.

what? Bradshaw is far less annoying than Eli Manning being able to lead game winning drives at will against New England.
