The Lakers should be fined with how they used Pau throughout the season. This is a product of Mike D'Antoni and his attempted implementation of a hybrid ty 7 secs or less offense.

We know in the triangle Lakers version, PJax always utilizes his big men as the main guy, the workhorse, inside out, and the rest just follow the lead from there.
dirk rang w/o no legit superstar playing alongside him imho. kidd is a legend but he was already 38yr something old by the time they rang, as much of a defensive beast as TC was, he had little to contribute at the offensive end. the rest of their 11' squad were all role players as well.

Pau Gasol is one of the best big men of the league but he's not a ing jumpshooter.

I always wonder if Lebron, Wade, Rose, CP3, or even Deron Williams could have won a ring with that loaded Lakers frontline and Phil Jackson.
Lebron, Wade, Rose and CP3 would surely have won it all, probably even with that 08 squad. Deron Williams, Utah version, is a maybe, I'd say.
Kobe vs a healthy TMac has always been a better comparison, IMO.
Pau has been under appreciated by both the Lakers and their fans for some time now. I believe that their troubles began as soon as they moved away from him as one of the focal points of the offense. For all the talk of Bynum vs Howard over who is the best big man in the league, the Lakers are at their best when Gasol is in the paint. His biggest issue is that he could not psychologically take being passed over for Bynum and Howard.
The strongest front court in the NBA (Bynum, Gasol, Odom) was collectively a much bigger advantage Pippen and the Bulls' mediocre front court.
