Cinema Paradiso - 10/10. Not gonna front, I was bawling my eyes out at the end. Never tried so hard to fight back tears (b/c I was watching with my gf), but couldn't help it. I was so wrapped up in the film (usually I'm half-heartedly analyzing while watching) that I had no idea what the old man's gift was that he left to him. Once he plays the film at the end, tears were streaming down my face uncontrollably
That was a masterpiece. One of the best I've seen.

Wierdest movie I have seen in a while. It makes me wonder if J. Phoenix really has a screw loose in real life. His track record would kind of lean that way. lol
The conspiracy theory is the one they sold you. Do you have any real pictures of Osama Bin laden dead from that so called raid? Didn't think so

Driven 2001…Sylvester Stallone, Burt Reynolds, Gina Gershon….
I have never seen it before & it was pretty enjoyable…Stallone/Rambo does not have to save the world…The director Renny Hardin put together some great eye candy, a good soundtrack and decent story….Director commentary is very interesting….Coming to Blu-Ray….

Very entertaining look at poker/gambling. Great cast, but couldn't they have found a real Russian actor to play Malkovich's role? His vamping and horrible attempt at a Russian accent really let the film down.

Wow. What a powerful story and a true one at that.
The Master - Crazy, degenerate alcoholic meets cultist weirdo. Cultist weirdo tries to convert crazy, degenerate alcoholic, but fails. The story could have been a lot better if Freddie wasn't bat insane long before he even meets Dodd. Whether Dodd converted Freddie or not doesn't matter, because Freddie still would have been crazy. PTA should have focused more on the lies and deceit behind the cult, because the scenes where people express skepticism about Dodd's teachings were the best ones.
The Quiller Memorandum - 1966
Two British agents are murdered by a mysterious neo-Nazi organization in West Berlin. The British Secret Service sends agent Quiller to investigate.
A sly & subtle 60's spy flick with an great cast and cool soundtrack. Filmed on location in Berlin. An excellent Saturday afternoon movie.

I enjoyed it too, touched on some topical issues. Did you think it could have been a little shorter?
Probably could have...but I was never bored and the movie never seemed slow. The great cast kept it rolling.
Fair call, I thought it could have been 10 or 20 mins shorter personally. great cast but writer just doesn't have same skills as Tarantino to have dialogue so riveting it can interest one in a long film
Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy - 2011
Entertaining but unoriginal. A great deal of effort was spent re-creating a 70's vibe, to the point of Gary Oldman doing an Alec Guinness impersonation at times.

Cop Land - 1997
Overplotted and unlikely, but still somewhat entertaining. Great cast, too bad the material is 2nd rate. Maybe Stallone's best acting job?

Alec Guinness played Smiley previously in a BBC version of Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. Le Carre is pretty much the premier cold war spy author, unique in that most of his novels feature internal conflict rather than external i.e. 007.

another movie about the "list" getting lost, rather than about what the heroes on that list are doing, cause that would actually take some work on the writers part.
another movie where the bag guy is just a rogue agent, cause we don't want to offend anybody
chase scenes where inferior vehicles keep up with superior ones.
bad guy's master plan getting deep into Rube Goldberg territory
guys giving each other choke holds under water.
