THere's no facts of google opening up their collection of information. But it is a good eye opener on the power of google. Which is starting to make more sense on why the Dems were so for SOPA.

If Dems can get to google's data like that, then they are pretty damn smart! I just wish the Conservatives could have gotten that kind of data collection. Even Ask.com at this point.

Yeah, from a tech standpoint, that makes no sense. Google isn't even allowed to tap on Social services like Twitter or Facebook. It's just easier to data mine the services directly. It's not like Google doesn't make trends and what not available.

Article sounds like it was written by somebody not to well informed in data mining. If there's anything to learn from that, is the GOP needs to pick up the slack on the tech side of things. The data is out there for everyone.

    The dude is making up.

It’s almost as if Democrats had access to some sort of huge database of real time information about what the public was reading or writing online. The kind of breathtakingly large, real-time data that could be used for real-time trend analysis, predictive modeling and even behavioral manipulation.
The real threat is that Google, or perhaps just a few people within the leadership of Google, may be quietly operating as a private intelligence agency for the left.
What it actually is is some dumbass making up. The democrat boogeyman is invading your privacy. I think.

There are people that do that here already. Why bring in outside sources with as much sense.

It's likely that the Obama campaign was much more sophisticated because a) he ran once already and was now the in bent and b) he had a MUCH bigger ground game than the Romney campaign.

Also, does anyone else think its hilarious that supposed conservatives comment in the articles with things like, "It's not fair that google would share info with Democrats and not Republicans!" And "It's not fair that the MSM doesn't publish things we like to read!"

Apparently they also had the better IT department. I think it also goes hand-in-hand with this misguided perception the GOP had that just "exciting the base" was enough to win the election, and really didn't need to do much more than that.

In GOP's defense, the whole social media explosion is fairly recent in terms of presidential elections. I'm sure they'll do better next time.

That doesn't change the fact that he just made up a bunch of . There's always a lot of excuse-making by the losers after a loss. Thanks for demonstrating it so clearly, I guess.

, if such information is available, it's difficult to think of a reason why Google wouldn't sell it to Republicans like good capitalists.

"GOP had that just "exciting the base" was enough to win the election,"

that, plus voter suppression (100Ks left the long, slow lines in FL, etc), 2010 gerrymandering (worked great at state level, red states are ed). An excited Repug base is just white males, 75% - 25%, is too small versus blacks, browns, women, LGBT, and getting worse, so Repugs try to make a brown star with Rubio The Repug Rebutter who fantastically failed on national TV.

    This.
The Obama campaign was very tech savy in the first election...the second was very well executed.
