It does bother him. For all his greatness, he is still sensitive about any perceived slight that may be thrown his way.
MJ with the sig worthy quote on Kobe:
"Kobe wants it so bad he's out there guarding PGs and playing 38, 40 minutes a game at age 34. It's ludicrous. He is as cursed as I am." - MJ

Blocked his shot tonight (twice) and locked him down in the clutch. Of course, Kobe dunked on him not too long ago:

    Long live The Kang.
And? Eric Bledsoe swatted LeBron in an actual game, I guess in your world, EBled > the Kang?

I am a fan of ball first ...
But read this thread ... you posted in. I love his talent, think he has GOAT potential ... but mentally he sometimes seems to shrink from challenges or make excuses when he does succeed. For example, it was nice to hear him say well I lack creativity for a dunk contest ...I thought he was being genuine and wondered about that myself. But I would want (or wish) that he would of done it just to challenge himself. Sure it's just a contest but to put his stamp on one ...would of MEANT something even if he lost, just taking the challenge. He seems like he really does appreciate the history of the game ... why not breathe some life in a floundering contest?

As for the ASG I cant believe folks are trying to spin this... there is no need. If you feel he was coasting than fine, he shrank from a challenge because it was clear Bryant was calling him out...if you concede that he did try and fail ...should that undo a whole season of dominant play? Lebron is the best plyer in the game. I dont think at this stage he is better than a "prime Kobe" ...only that he has THAT KIND OF POTENTIAL. if he maximizes that his ceiling is higher than MJ's or Kobe's ... but he wanted to go back at Kobe ... maybe he was not in Playoff mode and Koeb was but he was trying and he failed ...period. He cant win them all ...

My point was this WHOLE WEEKEND the things he says makes me wonder if he will ever realize that potential.

AndI wont apologize for being a fan of Lebron's game. I root for the Heat to lose most nights unless they play the Celts or some team I generally dislike, but me as a student of teh game wanting to see James maximize his talent (unlike Shaq, for example) is what is best for the game. Why would want the league in the hands of a player who does not?

I can respect you appreciating his game..but the way you giggle and gaggle over that in almost every thread is suspect...I suspect you're merely fascinated with Lebron's size...like most people were fascinated with Shaq's girth...(well except that hooker he slept with that said his was small) but after watching MJ and Kobe I don't see much to Lebron's game except powerful dunks he's gets off of screens or in the open court...his game isnt very skillful and artful he does everything with raw power and speed...and that's not enough to impress me...just like Blake Griffin's dunks..I ran into Shawn Kemp yesterday and got a chance to chat with him briefly and he reminded me of why I appreciated the "skill" of the slam dunk... Lebron is efficient, and can score on inferior talent..but he's doing it when he faces no real compe ors at his position...he's doing it in a league where some of the previous greats are pass their prime...Lebron faced a few teams that had great players and or very good players across the board and when he faced those teams he lost badly...for example Dallas, Boston, and SA...imagine if he had to routinely face teams that would have put a foot in his ass and came back at him on the offensive end..teams like 2000-2003 Kings, Spurs, Trailerblazers, etc. Kobe showed us a glimpse last night of what life would have been like for Lebron had he faced a prime Kobe on the regular...

Sure some of it is the size/speed ratio, LeBron is blessed that way he also is a great passer. If he died in a car crash today no way is he greater than Kobe, mj, Magic etc. I just think his upside is tremendous and he appears to be getting better ...I just think mentally he needs work.

bron has the potential to be the best ever to play this game, even though he's not likely to exceed jordan or kobe in terms of rings & other personal honors. there were elite players in NBA history but no one could dominate the game the way bron does. bron has been the league's best player for quite a few years and he keeps improving his play through the course. dude just needs to get more clutch and mentally more mature. he's not yet the greatest of all time, but he's very close tbh
