When the issue of relocating the Chargers from San Diego arises, the two-word city that always gets mentioned is the city where the franchise was founded: Los Angeles.
But if the Bolts decided to bolt their current home, the Governor of Texas would be interested in having them swap the “Diego” for “Antonio.”
Rick Perry recently addressed with U-T San Diegothe possibility of the Chargers moving to the Alamodome.
“You’d have to ask the Spanos family,” Perry said. “Dean is a good friend and I would be lying if I didn’t tell you, come to Texas and we would love to have their athletic club there. But there’s a family whose been there forever. If it gets so difficult for them to be able to operate, that’s always an option, but again you’d have to ask them. I have no indication that the Chargers are going to be coming to Texas anytime soon.”
The Chargers have an annual window within which they can break their lease at Qualcomm Stadium, for a price that drops every year. The Chargers already have informed San Diego that they won’t be leaving in 2013.But the suitability of the stadium coupled with an inability to sell all of the tickets to the team’s home games has made San Diego a challenging venue.

Interesting. Thoughts?
Buddy Holly's been playing with his prostate vibrator ever since this story broke.
Lol they can't even fill up a basketball stadium despite having a good team and cheap ass tickets AND being the only sports team in town. What makes him think those be@ners will watch a football team?
As a Chargerfan, I'm just ashamed that our owner actually associates with Rick Perry![]()
I'd rather SA than LA.
Like the NFL owners would vote to move a team to a facility that seats 65K max.
he's blowing smoke up san diego's ass for a stadium dealDean is a good friend
NFL will NEVER happen in San Antonio. First of all this is Cowboy country, the fans won't get behind anyhone else and Jerry Jones ain't gonna let any dollars go into some other owners pocket. Secondly, you saw what happens whenSan Antonio big wigs try a snag a NFL franchise, they build a million dollar stadium that is obsolete 3 days before it opens. Plus being a KC fan, I don't want any division rival calling SA 'home.'
I hate the Perry speaks for Texas. He should have lost that right when he boasted during the republican primary that Texas schools don't teach evolution.
I don't see how SA could support an NFL franchise. Games would be blacked out every Sunday.
And LOL Rick Perry
I honestly can't wait until they just nuke that thing. Blow it all up then airlift the ATT center out of ghettoville to the spot of the 'dome.
But no, won't happen. Instead, we get yearly news reports about some dumb istan people wanting to renovate it to NFL standards then have our stain city leaders cry about it being expensive. So it sits, hosting 5k people for a UTSA game, 50 people for a high school game, and the occasional christian gathering. And people actually think this city is aces![]()
The Chiefs' skin is one of the better looking ones on here imo
You forgot the U.S. Army All-American Bowl
These colors don't run
![]()
The dome is in ghettoville too. In fact, that whole downtown area is ghetto.
it, San Antonio is just ghetto period. It doesn't even matter where the stadiums go.
Man San Antonio is a lot better than St.Louis/
Don't forget about ball the awesome rv and boat shows.![]()
Well you assholes convinced me; we gotta keep the dome!![]()
They should've built it somewhere north. The obvious building trend of the city is north so that's where anything new should go. Go to 1604 on the northside and it's ing packed with everything. Go to lol 410 on the southside and it's fields and dying grass.
I still say to build something along 1604 north or in between here and Austin on 35.
That's the only realistic place. But, like it's been said already, Jones and his legion of idiotic Cowboy fans here in town wouldn't go for it. I can see the interviews now on local news "I still support mah cowboys! I <3 Romooooo!"
