that's interesting. toronoto could make a nice trade partner. bonner still seems like a fan favorite there.
Jonathan Feigen @Jonathan_Feigen Marcus Morris inactive tonight for Rockets. Checking on why.
Things like this...
Marc Stein @ESPNSteinLine Word is Rockets have decided to trade Marcus Morris and deciding between two deals
Rockets, Where Royce White is a Better than Average Draft Pick Happens
I think of Nando as I thought about Barry. He could do it all (speaking offensively only), in that sense. He's a versatile player who can play any position. Spurs love those guys, and it makes sense. Nando is big enough to play 3 (in spot minutes off the bench), but can also play 1 or 2.
As for Joseph, they've known about him since RC'd adopted son played with him at Texas, so it makes sense why they'd have a crush on him still if he has continued to meet all their demands (and it seems like he has). Joseph is a Junior in college at this point, and last season was a mess without a training camp, so I wouldn't put too much stock in how "he's been treated."
I feel like they have flexibility to take Joseph through the system slowly while:
-Evaluate Neal to see if he can get better, but also increase his trade value. Basically improve the team through his (somewhat unique) skill set, even though he has big flaws elsewhere
-Evaluate Mills. Similar to Neal, but has a few other weaknesses, but is younger and has possibly more potential with more work.
-Evaluate Nando - too many guys to give enough time to. Nando is older and more experienced, so he needs the NBA evaluation period a bit more, while CJ is a little bit more raw and just needs more hands on guidance (kinda like the college experience)
If they liked him at all, and made the suggestion to play overseas, then they likely are keeping their tabs. Spurs have done well to create a full network overseas.
That said, Blair and Mills for Morris? I might do it since Stretch 4s are hard to find.

Trade? RT @Jonathan_Feigen Marcus Morris inactive tonight for Rockets. Checking on why.Alex Kennedy @AlexKennedyNBA
Marcus Morris inactive. Kevin McHale told @Jonathan_Feigen, "Talk to Daryl." Here we go.Alex Kennedy @AlexKennedyNBA
It sounds like the Rockets are trading Marcus Morris. That would be the sixth year in a row that Daryl Morey has made a deal at deadline.
If only, Blair's advanced numbers looked good! Morey wouldn't said yes long ago then, I bet!!
Marcus Morris > Blair and Bonner 8 days out of the week. Let's pray we're in on this..
Pretty sure Morey is using cap space to get a 1st round pick.
Chicago could be a partner. Something around Rip + 1st for Morris.
Would the Rockets really trade Morris to a divison rival is the question though....
Doubtful unless it was a great deal. And I don't see Blair + a late 1st round pick being that appealing to the Rockets, unless they're just really trying to cut payroll to make a run at Dwight Howard or Josh Smith this summer. But, Morris is only making $3 million over the next season and a half, with a club option for 2015 for $4 million.
Jared Zwerling @JaredZwerling Sources tell me the #Knicks are shopping Ronnie Brewer. Not sure for who. J. O'Neal (via trade) & L. Amundson (via pickup) are also targets.
Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA Sacramento has traded forward Thomas Robinson to the Houston Rockets, league source tells Y Sports.
Adrian Wojnarowski @WojYahooNBA The Houston Rockets have traded Marcus Morris to the Phoenix Suns for a future second-round draft pick, league sources tell Y! Sports.
Both Morris twins play in Phoenix now!
I think Sacramento got the better of this deal.
timvp, can you make this a live thread?
If Morris is only worth a 2nd round pick we might have to give up a 2nd round pick to get rid of Blair.
Well a trade has finally been made. Interesting to see if this leads to anywhere (mostly the fate of Blair).
Or not. Woj reporting Morris to Suns for a 2nd, and Rockets trading for Thomas Robinson.
For only a 2nd round draft pick? WTF?!?!
Suns about to trade 1 or more of their forwards away?
Damn, great news for Robinson. He was going nowhere fast with the Kings, and it doesn't look like things are gonna get much better even after they move to Seattle.
