Not sure why people are blaming the officiating. It wasn't great, but it didn't seem to me that it was the reason the Lakers won. That stretch of free throws seemed pretty legit. Howard took I believe 4 of those free throws and I'm sure Dallas was more than willing to put him on the line. And while Mayo's foul on Kobe's lay-up attempt was kind of soft, replay showed it was a legit foul on Kobe's arm. If Kobe makes the lay-up, maybe they let it go. As for Mayo's technical, don't see an issue with that either especially when the refs had already showed a quick whistle with that stuff on Kobe in the first half. Are they supposed to officiate differently in the 4th quarter and let that go when they called Kobe for a technical earlier for a comparable reaction? Plus, the game still had to be won by clutch shooting by Kobe and Nash. And they did that.
Good win for the Lakers. Now 2 games behind Houston in the loss column, with still a head-to-head match-up, and a game in hand. Kobe was great. Aside from a few poor decisions that led to a few too many turnovers and still some porous defense, he played a complete game at least offensively.
