TP shouldn't be on that list at the moment. With a sprained ankle, all of those other guys are better than him.

10. Ty Lawson
9. Jrue Holiday
8. Deron Williams
7. Stephen Curry
6. Rajon Rondo
5. Kyrie Irving
4.Derick Rose
3. Russell Westbrook
2. Tony Parker
1. Chris Paul
Much better than Bleacher Report ( I posted a couple of months ago) I still think Paul is clearly not as good as Parker is though.
TP shouldn't be on that list at the moment. With a sprained ankle, all of those other guys are better than him.
Tony made CP3 look bad. Westbrook made CP3 look bad. CP3's stock is coming down imo.
Tony is the best Point guard in the league right now. He should be number 1 based on what he has done all season. His stats are better than any other point guard
this season. full stop.
Your argument is flawed...what about Rose? Rondo?
They shouldn't be on the list either.
If it devolves into a question of "given current injuries, who could play better?" I guess I'd rather have injured tony than injured rondo given the severity of the injury.
Rose is about to come back, though. So he's probably better than TP at the moment.
Tony at 2 doesn't bother me. The one that had him at 7 or so was laughable.
Agree to disagree...the article is the Top 10 PGs in the NBA. All 3 belong there. It says nothing about Top 10 uninjured PGs in the NBA. Last time I checked, they're all still in the NBA.
What the ? Parker isn't out for the season. A temporary injury doesn't suddenly mean a guard is a worse player, it just means he won't be in the next few games.
Get a grip. This is an overall list, not a "who would be the best on 3/2/13 and no other day".
Assuming it was published today or yesterday, why not?
Parker won't be playing for another month, so why would he be on a list of top point guards right now. Similarly, I can't understand the logic of why Rondo (out for the season) and Rose (hasn't played in almost a year) would be on a list of top point guards right now. They aren't top point guards right now. If anything, Tony is the only one of the three who has a claim to this list since his injury is most recent and least severe, but none of the three should be on it tbh.
It's a shame the trade deadline is past. We could trade Bonner for Pau Gasol since Bonner is the better player right now.![]()
only 1 that should not be there is Rose. he hasn't played in over 1 year.
These lists are so subjective--how does one even evaluate the difference between these guys when you consider the fact that they all have nearly identical numbers? I like TP for the Spurs more than any other point guard in the game today, because no one else could run the spurs offense the way he does.
These ranking should be made after the season ended.
I agree 110% that injured players cant be better than healthy players.
Many on that list havent played all games.
I said this on another thread, if I had to choose NOW a PG for "my team" Im getting Westbrook (Parker at that time). I rather have him than any other on that list.
Who would pick a player that will miss games, nobody.
And being healthy is also something that makes players great.
You are absolutely right!
CoJo averages per 36 higher FG%, FT%, 3PT% than both CP3 and Westbrook! More rebounds than CP3 and more steals than Westbrook!
While Paul may be the better player, Tony is tougher and his contract is more reasonable. There were some rumors the Spurs offered TP for Paul some years ago, but that would have been a risk. TP continues to work hard and improve, the difference now isn't important.
This isn't terrible at all. I see it as...
1. Tony Parker
2. Chris Paul
3. Kyrie Irving
4. Derrick Rose
5. Russell Westbrook
But then again, when Steph Curry is scoring he makes any PG look like a joke.
I think the reason Chris Paul is rated higher is due to the fact that the Spurs are a very mature, well-led team already, and with or without Mr. parker in the lineup the Spurs will do well. When Chris Paul was injurek, the Clippers were horrible and unfocused. You wouldn't see any of that here. So I guess in a way the Spurs' professionalism works a little bit against Mr. Parker in that respect.
league MVP is the fourth best PG just two years later?
I understand your criticism but the contracts are too disparate so the scenario is flawed.
I'm going to assume you're playing the devil's advocate and aren't actually that stupid. Injuries do not decrease the skill of a player unless they are extremely severe. Even Rose at 80% will be one of the best PGs in the league. If you can't see that you should probably try watching a few more games of basketball.
Take Curry off that list...he may be listed as a pg, but he is a shooting guard.
You are talking about a league that votes players into the all-star game when they have been out all, or a significant portion of the season.
