When they were showing Heat vs Grizz highlights it was all Heat highlights and Lebron's bad shooting night . I remember early in the season we were vs OKC on ESPN and Doris Burke was sucking on Westbrick's like crazy and said that Grizzlies were complaining for calls and WE WON DAT . I hate Doris Burke so much but hey it's better than the Spurs who are the number 1 seed but teams like Chicago , Lakers , Heat , Thunder , OKC , Boston ( haven't seen them on tv lately doe ) , New York , Brooklyn , Denver and even ing Mavericks and GSW get more tv time .

ESPN doesn't have offices in Memphis or San Antonio. They will always talk more about teams from cities in which they have local offices. Also, no one gives two s about Memphis other than the pork sandwich eating sister ers in Memphis. No one cares about SA except for the taco vending and coyote paying weed eaters in San Antonio. ESPN is trying to reach is major target audience. They aren't a news organization. They don't have to be fair and balanced.
even nba.com when the ratings team loses they show all them highlights instead of the winning team...

memphis ain't a marketable team and they don't have no superstars to draw any national attention. another example, Utah were a perennial top 4 western team in the mid 2000s and they didn't get nearly as much interest from the media as what was given to the rockets, despite they could make a clown of the houston team everytime they met in the playoffs. mavs can play as and still get considerable games on the mainstream media for their strong fan base imho
News organisations aren't fair and balanced either though.
Real ones are.
Espn is so east coast bias look at were they based.
