why not just be, you know, an engineering intern scroh? jobs just not callin?
you should just try being a phone banker or something where your bea@nerness can actually be an asset to other be@ners, if i have a job opening ill let you know
looking for a telemarketing job rather than actual engineering experience
Even though you are a massive and welshed on me, I will again provide as much help as I can.
I work from "home" (meaning I don't have an office, it's just at my house, but I am typically out during the working day then do my admin stuff from my place). My job might be difficult to get right away, however, I do have an idea to share with you.
My lovely GF is a Speech Language Pathologist that specializes in children and works for a home health company. She works out of our place, but like me is out most of the day at her clients homes doing their therapy. When she comes across a child/home that is Spanish speaking, she then calls an interpreter that she cooridnates with and they meet at the clients home. This person (which I'm suggesting you look into) gets paid decently well and has a flexible schedule (meaning they are working from home/at clients homes vs going into an office).
Lucky for you, the industry is growing rapidly and I am quite sure there are several home health Speech Path companies in San Antonio. My suggestion would be to look them up and see if they need an interp. Good news is, I do not believe it requires a college education nor a back ground in the field since you are not doing technical work - just translating what the Speech Pathlogist is saying/the kid is saying.
Hopefully that helps and who knows, it might inspire you down a career path you didn't really know of before.
I've said it before, but the way you have taken FkLA under your wing in spite of how unappreciative he's been is both honorable and commendable.
Yeah, like m> s said, you should be looking into an engineering internship. Halliburton, perhaps?
working at home ain't a bad idea because you won't have to burn 100 something gallons of gas on road every month, whose price is sky rocketing. being bilingual ain't gonna give you such a big advantage as you think imho, there're well more than a million immigrants in this country and most of them are bilingual. just speak fluent english and you're good tbh. i've been planning to start my own talkshow on the internet concerning love/relationship/life issues, and you can give me a call if you have any interest in joining me my friend.
they're too many jobs out there whose names are well decorated but which are indeed deadend jobs. i know that even a dead end job would be satisfying enough for a mexican immigrant but if i were a local student who has a hugh ambition, im gonna continue to pursue my career in school or somewhere else at any cost. there ain't many jobs like engineer internship in the market today where you can improve your skills in your profession while getting better prepared for the future imho, most of the available jobs are deadend ty jobs out there and it would be a waste of your time and intelligence to work at those ty jobs tbh
put ur mouth, ass and hand to good use clown
leave it to the guy thats butthurt about selling insurance to twist it up.
Its by choice that I want a low skill, flexible job while school is going on. If I have 2-3 exams within the span of a week I want to be able to not work so I can bunker myself in the library for the week...ideallly Id rather not work but not all of us live home with mommy or spend all our time with our bullmastiffs tbh. I got leisure expenses and rent unlike yourself .
Is your gf taller than you?
Jk bro, if youre being genuine than thanks for taking the time. Ill take a look at it tomorrow morning tbh.
Look into contract positions instead of full time/part time employment if you are looking for something like translation or telemarketing. Those can be a bit more flexible and you can negotiate a bit more with them.
I am in as DPG21920's girlfriend in that my office can be at home but I am out in the community assessing and interviewing families and volunteers. It's alright, but you have to be focused and have to make your own schedule and stay away from distractions that can get you off track. Our office now has several "must be in the office" days so we can track our productivity.
If you really are an engineering student, I think the internship is sound advice.
"Hi, I'm calling about the engineering internship. I would like to apply."
"oh, okay. Where do you go to school?"
"I study at UST..... o??!!?".
hahaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahah

You are DPGs gf?
Otherwise, thanks for the advice.
Summer. Pretty certain Ill end up getting atleast one internship this summer.
My aunt sales all that pefume and stuff. No, thanks.![]()
No. It should have read as a similar situation as.
Let's leave the fact that I'm under your brown skin out of this for the moment and realize that others are telling you I'm giving you sound advice. Nobody is going to hire an engineer from UTSA without any engineering experience. It's very important that you get an internship in your field if you wont to be able to find a job post grad. Other engineering students are able to handle their studies and find relevant work experience, why should you be exempt? If you can't handle your tests and work 20 hours a week in an internship, then you're probably in over your head by majoring in engineering. Just imagine if you were at a real school.
lol at the guy whos major got him stuck selling insurance talking about me wanting as much study time as possible for tests in a real major
Its not really that applying for an internship isnt sound advice, its that your degree got you a job selling insurance...so youre butthurt and all too happy to assume my superior engineering degree cant get me a real job either. Its by choice that I want this kind of job, mainly for the flexibility--Im doing an internship in the summer.
people with the real capacity to major in engineering choose a real school and are able to handle both tests and internship, sorry
