why is this team so inconsistent tho? one night they play beautiful defense and the next game its like a completely diff team. It probably hasn't happened alot but I know it has happened a few times this season.
We didn't take the Warriors seriously a few weeks ago either, nor the Suns last week, and we lost those games. Teams aspring to be champions cannot lose mental focus at this stage in the season. The Heat haven't lost focus for 16 straight games, most of those against scrub Leastern Conference teams, too.

Let's see the Heat win 16 straight games without Lebron James.
And tbh, I thought the refs rigged a couple of those games during this last 16 game streak. The Heat have been a looking a bit unglued here and there and the Magic in particular were hosed.
That said, I agree with your overall sentiment and a 30 point loss at home is completely unacceptable. I think Pop'll let them hear it though.
Batum only scored 2 points too. It's the most shocking Spurs loss of the season.
smh @ you. Games like this happen, no matter what month we are in. You can't do anything about that. It doesn't mean they lost their "focus". Did we not just see them beat Chicago the other night? The only thing this affects is playoff positioning, but I'm sure the Spurs have their mind on winning the championship. Beating a 10th seed in the West isn't gonna prove anything.
If it becomes a common trend, then you can worry. But now, it's just all premature and it's why sometimes I hate coming up here after losses.
will you start to worry if we get blown out by OKC???
Nope. Because Tony is out and also I've seen this team fight hard all season that a little streak of losses won't change anything. Did people expect us to cruise by without TP easily?
We probably aren't getting by OKC or Miami in the playoffs, but to base the team's focus on a regular season loss is silly especially when their best player is out.
Hey, I respect your thoughts on this and I'm not one to say the sky is falling after every Spurs loss but tonight's loss is just unacceptable. It was more then losing focus, it was being soft when this is the time of year that real contenders man up and take each game leading up to the playoffs as serious preparation. And I got news for ya, without HCA, the Thunder have a huge advantage against us in the WCF if we get that far again.
3 times in the past month against teams that are beneath us is what's really bugging me. The loss against the Warriors? Shouldn't have happened. The loss against the Suns? Shouldn't have happened. Losing to the Blazers at home by 30 points and giving up 46 in the fourth quarter? Baffling and inexcusable. Man, I need to cool off! I'm so disgusted with the team right now.
It's easy for the other real contenders to "man up" when they have a healthy roster. I hate to use health as an excuse, but it's true. Portland also played out of their minds. You just gotta tip your hat and move on. The Spurs probably took them for granted and paid for it. It happens when you play teams that aren't likely to challenge you in the playoffs. The loss was terrible, I'm not gonna lie. I just don't understand the soft or losing focus label when this team has shown this year that they are really good. It's not like we are watching the 2011 season out there which was very fool's gold.
good points. Im just pretty bummed. I've only been following the Spurs since 08, so I haven't had much to cheer for. Just really wanna see Duncan get that 5th ring.
So what were Pop's comments after the game?
sky isn't falling yet, but who was the last championship team to lose by 30 in the season?
Called it tbh, microball killed us again
lol, me too man, im almost crying over here. guess we just gotta roll with the punches.
I'm sure we all do.
Yeah, on the road against a real contender (us), not a scrub team in the middle of March at home. Ok, I'm done ing about this one...really, lol.![]()
Well technically we are missing our best player so it's not a great comparison.
It's okay to be angry at this game. But hopefully you gain some perspective and not take this loss as a mean of the team losing their focus.
It's going to be a long time until Monday night. Hopefully, that translates into a shootout at the OKC Corral on Monday. If will be extremely difficult for me to root for a team with Jason Terry on it, but what are ya gonna do? Let's hope the Celtics give them a loss on Sunday.
I went to the game tonight...it was my first home game this year. Great ing choice of a game, eh?
Tough break.
Sorry to hear it man! I hate going to games and watch us play horribly! Did you ask for a refund?![]()
