    What's worse:

    1. Lakers miss playoffs
    2. Lakers make playoffs but get swept in the 1st round by a team that doesn't make it to the WCF

Financially, the 1st is worse. For fans, you have the bible bas maker as a scapegoat, and you have Pringles as well (and Nash and Gasol and everyone short of Kobe).

Think about it. It's not as cut and dry as it seems. The Lakers were damaged more by Kobe quitting that series against the Suns than they were the season they didn't make it, because Kobe won the MVP that year and they actually acquired Gasol and won a le shortly thereafter.

So, would you rather send the signal to the front office that "we're almost there" or would you rather send the signal that "well, this didn't work, blow it up, make some cap space and lets get some real talent in here"?

Not making the playoffs is out of the equation. They HAVE to make the playoffs.

Too bad you have neither. The Cavs never won one, nor did the Suns. Those are your two teams. Now you have the best of both worlds with your head coach and PG, and your Lebron wannabe SG.

Dale also said he never makes alt names, that too was a religion. Lots of backsliding going on around here.

Let's put it all in perspective:

    Kobe Bryant
    2 games
    ~70% shooting
    83 points
    24 assists
    13 rebounds
    GOAT - MJ

Kobe is 1st Laker with 40 points and 10 assists in back-to-back games since Jerry West in 1970.

That's one Kirby accolade I won't argue with. I've always said I take him over anyone in the history of the NBA if I needed a shot from an inbounds pass with 3 seconds or less. Only Reggie Miller is comparable.

Overrated as a complete clutch player, which the stats prove, but I'd be willing to bet he has a higher success rate in tough shot situations than anyone in the NBA over the last 20 years.

If I were to pick someone to shoot a contested 3 when being double teamed with the shot clock winding down I'd also pick Mr Bryant even over Mr Jordan.

Though tbf Kobe's a higher volume 3 shooter so he relishes D'Antoni's scheme - less long 2s, more 3s, post ups, and slashing.
