Tulsa, OK (KOKI) - An Oklahoma woman was arrested for allegedly mixing chemicals needed to make meth inside a Walmart. She reportedly told police she was too broke to buy the chemicals.
Shoppers had no idea the woman was suspected of cooking meth inside the Walmart while they were inside.

A portable meth lab exploded in an Oklahoma man's pants Friday during a scuffle with a state trooper.
David Williams ran from a police officer who noticed a chemical smell as he was issuing a speeding ticket to the driver of the SUV that Williams was a passenger in, KOTV reported.
The officer caught up with Williams and in the ensuing struggle, an "active meth lab" he had been hiding in his pants burst, Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper Shiloh Hall told the station.

Washington, D.C. -The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America has released a new poll re-confirming what AAFA representatives said they've already learned from a previous study and from 60 years of nonprofit service to the asthma and allergy community: patients nationwide - even in Oklahoma - strongly oppose proposed laws to change popular over-the-counter medications to prescription-only status.

According to the Drug Enforcement Administration, Tulsa County has the most identified contaminated meth lab sites in the country. That's more than any other county in the country.

    Fattest City: Houston
We'll spare you the predictable Texas-size jokes, but one thing Houston seems to maintain-- and expand yearly--is the cir ference of its collective paunch. Fine, we threw one in anyway, but it couldn't be helped, because, according to the CDC, a whopping 34% of H-Town residents are overweight. In previous surveys we'd claimed Houston was on the upswing in the weight-loss department, but there's evidently been a bit of a regression since we last checked in.

It could be the heat. Houston typically suffers through a hundred or more days each year with temperatures in excess of 90, combined with relative humidity that rivals Manila's. The city's average commute--27.5 minutes, primarily by car since Houston lacks a comprehensive mass-transit system--also plays a major role in keeping Houstonians seated and sedentary.

Oklahoma’s lack of clean-up regulations for discovered methamphetamine labs could be risking the health of hundreds of Oklahomans.
Nine hundred and sixteen meth labs were discovered in Oklahoma in 2011, which is the fifth highest in the country behind Missouri, Tennessee, Kentucky and Indiana, according to the United States Drug Enforcement Agency.

ANDERSON, Ind. (AP) — Police in Anderson say officers shot a man who tried to hit them with his car after they discovered his meth lab.

Detective Joel P. Sandefur says 32-year-old Dustin Roy Anderson was in stable condition Saturday at St. Vincent's Hospital in Indianapolis, where he was taken following the shooting.

Sandefur says police were searching a garage for a burglary suspect when they smelled an odor associated with making methamphetamine. While police were questioning the people in the garage, Sandefur says Anderson drove his 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier through the garage door at officers surrounding the building, knocking one of the officers down.

Another officer fired shots that struck Anderson once in the side.

The Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office shut down what officials say appeared to be a meth lab Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 27, in New Caney.
Investigators say they received information indicating methamphetamine was allegedly being sold by 51-year-old Sheri Young from a travel trailer on a property in the 21600 block of Punkin. Surveillance of the residence revealed a large number of visitors who stayed for short periods of time, which further supported the allegation, according to Precinct 4 officials.
Around 1:20 p.m. a Precinct 4 lieutenant conducted a traffic stop on a red Chevy S-10 pickup, which was one of the vehicles that had a short visit at Young’s residence. The truck was eastbound on McCleskey with two male and two female occupants. Officials say one of the women was sitting on a man’s lap, with neither wearing a seatbelt as required by law.
"As the deputy approached and activated his emergency equipment, he could see that same female lean over, out of sight for several seconds, leading the deputy to suspect she was attempting to hide contraband," Precinct 4 officials said in a press release. "The lieutenant recognized the driver, Robert Reneau, who acted extremely nervous and was visibly shaking and displaying other su ious behavior."
Officials say the lieutenant discovered a white plastic container with a glass pipe and over a half gram of methamphetamine. Reneau, 43, of Splendora, was reportedly detained and his passengers were then identified as Michael Young, 29, of Splendora; Moriah Carroll, 20, of Conroe, and a second female who was not charged with any crime.
A search of the vehicle and its contents revealed 14 pills identified as a dangerous drug in Carroll’s purse, according to the Precinct 4 Constable's Office .
"Carroll was taken into custody and initially denied having any contraband on her person, but later admitted having hidden methamphetamine in her vaginal area," the press release states. "She said Michael Young (Sheri Young’s son), whose lap she was sitting on at the time of the stop, tried to force the drugs down her pants when saw law enforcement, but then she agreed to hide them."

Mexican cartels recruit Texas youth to traffic drugs across the border. The Texas border region represents 9.7% of the state’s population, yet this region has 19.2% of the state’s juvenile felony drug referrals and 21.8% of the state’s juvenile felony gang referrals.

In October 2011, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) apprehended a 12-year-old boy in a border county driving a stolen pickup truck containing more than 800 pounds of marijuana.

Oklahoma prosecutors outmanned in battle against meth
    by Sean Murphy, Associated Press
    11:49 AM, Friday, February 24
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Narcotics agents and prosecutors on the front line of Oklahoma’s war against methamphetamine sought a seemingly simple fix: limit access to a key ingredient of the powerful stimulant by requiring a doctor’s prescription to buy it.

Instead, the group, which usually has a lot of influence at the Statehouse, found itself outmanned by a politically connected and well-financed drug lobby that funded radio ads, lobbyists and a local public relations firm to resist the plan.

OKLAHOMA CITY (Reuters) - Police arrested 17 people on Monday and were looking for 21 more in a crackdown on what they described as a major operation smuggling Mexican-made methamphetamine across the border for sale in central Oklahoma.

Mark Woodward, spokesman for the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics, said the drug ring distributed 10 to 12 pounds of methamphetamine valued at up to $200,000 each week in central Oklahoma. The meth was brought across the border by car, he said.
