son back in the day, the Chinese were so far ahead of the Europeans when it came to ship building that it's not even funny. if China didn't turn into isolationist gots, they might've been the dominant world power over Europe.

I don't have a problem with "black" from somewhere other than Africa. The Africans of every religion tend to feel the need to prove themselves to be true (fill in the religion), so they tend to become berserker level dogmatics. I do have a problem with that, because that is Rome's actual existing problem.
god created the world and his harbinger is supposed to bring blisses to all living things on the earth, not just to humans ourselves. a black pope would possibly do a much better job affiliating ourselves to animals than a white pop would in that regard imho
