They changed that rule back in 2006 after the Mavs Spurs WCSF series. They may end up as a 4 seed at worst by winning the division but if the 5 seed say Denver or Memphis has a better record, the Clippers will not have home court.
At least the Clippers can entertain us fans with their little dunk show and whatnot. Unfortunately, flashy dunks don't lead to championships, defense, strategy, consistency, good team basketball, etc. does.

Who is legit contender outside of the Heat?... Clippers were lauded as a top team in the West and they are. Frankly the difference between the top 4 and bottom 4 in the West is pretty abysmal.
no they don't. If they win the pacific, then they are guaranteed the 4th seed at the worst, but the home court is determined by record. Meaning that if denver has a better record but is 5th seed due to not being a division winner then it will be
4. LAC vs 5. DEN with denver having home court.
oops, thanks scanry.
Spurs and Thunder..
If you look back at posts from October-December, along with "analysis" from the media and blogs, the Clippers were widely considered to be better than the Spurs and just as good as OKC, tbh..
Everybody was running their mouths about Crawford being a reliable go-to-guy, Jordan developing a post game, best bench in the NBA, etc..
Ah, thanks
Fair enough.
HCA ain't no big deal to monkeyball though, at least not as important as to denver or utah imho
