IIRC they have josh Wilson lined up to restructure if they get a verbal from talib
I'm not sure why you're so sure Washington will be able to do something that puts them over the salary cap

The Chargers just signed Danny Woodhead.... hopefully McCoy knows how to use him correctly (i.e. not running him up the middle every down like Norv did with Sproles), tbh...
Dumervil has been released.
Thanks for taking him off our hands since McDaniels thought running Woodhead up the middle on draw plays would "catch the D by surprise!"
Maybe the Patriots will keep fixing what's not broken on offense and completely miss the playoffs.
I'll bet you Danny's stats and NE's offensive stats are worse than Wes's and the team's was this past year. I'll also bet you NE does not get to the SB.
It's beyond me how you guys have no love loss for a guy that put up the numbers Welker did. I'd almost think you were trolling it's so ridiculous.
As long as McCoy and Whisenhunt don't do stupid like that with him, I'll be happy, tbh.... PFF actually graded him the highest of all your running backs last season even with all those draw plays, though...
Probably not since Tom Brady alone enables them to win 12 games and the AFC east every year. The AFC and particularly the AFC East is so weak that gimmicks like whoring your slot receiver is all that's needed to make the playoffs.
I'll bet you they win just as many or more superbowls without Wes Welker as they did with Wes Welker.
Howeva, I concede that if a team's goal is to put up really sexy regular season offensive stats then lose in the playoffs, Wes Welker can play a critical role on that team.
I'd almost think you were trolling the way you pretend Wes Welker made Tom Brady and New England's offense, not the other way around.
The fact no team wanted to pay Welker for more than 2 years and for nearly as much as top receivers make demonstrates your views on Wes Welker are much more distorted than mine.
The Broncos had to release Dumervil because they didn't get his signature for the pay cut until seven minutes after the deadline. The resulting cap hit may prevent them from signing him.
CIA Belichick using Welker to cripple the Broncos.![]()
I don't pretend that wide receivers make the QB and I wouldn't want to over pay receivers myself.
But letting your QB's favorite security blanket walk at the savings of a couple million is unspinnably stupid. The chances are very high the offense will not be as good as usual for at least first half of the season.
Keep trying to spin it as a good move though so I can bump this thread next year when the Pats get knocked out again.
Donks
Raiders-esque front office inep ude
Having to cut Dumervil due to not having their together
Signing Welker instead of improving the secondary
John "Norv 2.0" Fox as the coach
Playoff Peyton
Rahim Moore
As opposed to all those les they have with Welker?
I was going to say that. Unless Welker has a Jacoby-like turnaround for the Broncos (making multiple clutch plays in the post-season), there will be no reason why the Patriots should feel like not having Welker keep them from winning. He hasn't put them over the top for the last five years.
they just made it harder to win one.
but keep pretending they're better off now that he's gone so I can lol even more at the worse results next year.
LOL advancing in the playoffs is incredibly difficult even if your team is stacked. Making 3 straight championship games would be tough even with Welker.
But since you're gonna play the percentages and pray they fall in your favor, how about an ELE bet that the Patriots get just as far without Welker?
The Ravens signed Marcus Spears to a $3.55M/2 deal. That's strange, considering how many good d-linemen Baltimore has now. Ngata may move inside to the nose.
Right, bump this thread when the Patriots make the playoffs and lose just like they were doing with Welker.
That'll really make me look stupid.
Who said they were better off with Amendola instead of Welker?
The Cardinals just signed Antoine "Burnt Toast" Cason.... thanks for taking our garbage, Arizona![]()
I wanted him in New England (UA bias)
Was he that bad last year? His first few years he looked like he was gonna be a good corner but he must have regressed since then.
He'd have fit right in with the Patriots seconardy, then.
I don't like ele bets. Sig bet or cash would be ok. Just saying i told you so would also be ok.
I'll bet you $100 that Welker has less than 1,000 receiving yards in Denver this year.
PFF ranked him as one of the worst corners in football last year, tbh..... he personally gave up 38 1st downs and 5 touchdowns....
Trust me, the Pats were better off not signing him, imho.... the fact that the best he could get for his second contract is a 1-year, $2 mil deal with a ty team says it all...
The same wench who supposedly has a source giving her info ahead of time is saying that New England has given Emanuel Sanders an offer sheet, so the only question is if he signs it since Pittsburgh is highly unlikely to match.
