And that's why I wasn't about to write the Ravens off after Flacco signed that big contract, tbh....
Donald jones is horrible and Emmanuel sanders isn't much of a deep threat at all. Idk how you think those two will be good enough as the two outside threats. I'd say what they had last year with branch and Lloyd was better tbh
And that's why I wasn't about to write the Ravens off after Flacco signed that big contract, tbh....
The Ravens still have enough money to sign Dumervil and re-sign Reed and McKinnie. If they get that done, then it's really about what they do in the draft and whether their injured players and come back healthy.
If not Dumervil, someone like James Harrison as a third-down guys may not be bad.
Steelers forums seem pretty upset over losing Sanders. Sanders is a load faster than Lloyd.
I can see Jones filling a Gaffney type role with the team. Nothing especially great but reasonably prductive as the 4th or 5th option.
He's another undersized slot receiver when they needed an outside threat more than 6' tall. They needed a nigfreak receiver and he sure as ain't it.
Meanwhile, Bills fans were happy to see Jones leave because of how bad he is.
Prime Randy Moss or anything close to it isn't available. Steelers fans seem to think Sanders has potential to be a Boldin type receiver. He's not a burner but scouting reports say he has enough speed and athleticism to stretch the field to keep defenses honest. I hate when Brady throws deep anyways because his deep ball is . But obviously we at least need a guy that defenses will respect, instead of Brady trying to bomb it to Brandon Tate or some .
Anquan Boldin - 6'1" 218
Emmanuel Sanders - 5'11" 186
I don't understand that comparison at all since Boldin is the opposite of a speed guy. They didn't need prime Randy Moss. They need a receiver that isn't an undersized pussy who can make plays in tight coverage against physical secondaries and can consistently beat single coverage. Donald Jones sure as isn't that guy, and I doubt Emmanuel Sanders is either. I don't give a about his 40 time or what Steelers fans think. As you said, Brady's deep ball sucks, so it's not gonna be successful when he's throwing to a midget under 6 feet tall as that requires a perfectly thrown deep ball into a tight window. Defenses won't respect it anymore than his deep balls to Lloyd or Welker.
Gronk can be the physical receiver who makes plays against good coverage, but if Belichick is building the receiving corps with the expectation Gronk will be healthy then he's a in moron. Gronk's made it clear partying with other topless dudes (lol the white Vince Young) is his highest priority and he'll risk injury in the process.
Tbh the one hope I'm counting on making a midseason trade for a receiver like they did for Talib last year. I give it a few weeks into the season before Santonio Holmes and the Jets have had enough of each other and they look to unload him ASAP even if it's to their rival.
So who do you want that's available?
LOL "i dont want some 5-11 190 lb midget but i really hope they trade for a guy that's 5-11 190 lbs"
1) I wouldn't have waived Lloyd
2) DHB
3) Braylon Edwards
It's a long shot, but 2 and 3 have the physical potential to become the receiver they need. Emmanuel Sanders doesn't.
I see what you're saying that the wide receivers available this year were trash, but I'd much rather them sign a few boom or bust receivers than replace a bunch of midgets with more midgets.
I'll make an exception when the 5'11" midget has caught a superbowl winning pass in triple coverage.
I probably wouldn't be ing if they kept Lloyd and signed Sanders (which hasn't been done yet) since that is an unquestionable improvement over last season. My frustration stems from them thinking Donald Jones is capable of being a starter on a superbowl team just as much as it stems from them thinking Emmanuel Sanders is gonna be the outside threat that both replaces Lloyd and adds the element they need.
Welker wouldn't do much of anything in Arizona. I would never make a silly claim like that.
And Wes getting 1000 in Denver proves nothing. Danny getting 110+ rec 1200 yards though would prove Wes was extremely expendable.
You want an injury clause on Danny. Shocker!I'd be more than willing to bet on Amendola's numbers if an injury clause that cancelled the bet was included (and I'd let you include that if you wanted to bet on Welker's numbers).
Even though Welker getting 1000 is a meaningless bet, I'll take you up on it, if we include injury clause to both Welker and Manning.
What's the clause you want? Lets make it an official bet tbh.
tbh i think we're drafting a reciever in the first or second round..
justin hunter seems like the perfect type for dok to be happy![]()
Meh, receivers generally take 2 years in the NFL before they finally develop into quality players. And on top of that almost every receiver Belichick has drafted sucks. He can't evaluate receivers for .
This. The time to draft a receiver was 2011 when the receiver class had a few beast prospects and they had two first round picks. The only receivers I'd want belichick drafting are guys like aj green and Julio jones who a 12 year old could tell would dominate in the nfl.
This year there aren't any cant miss receiving prospects and all of them have potential to be the next chad Jackson.
An injury clause for both Welker and Manning. If Welker misses 8 total quarters or PM misses 12 total quarters of action for any reason, bet is null. Fair enough?
Even if Welker hits 1000, why would that make him elite in Denver, but hitting 1500 in NE doesn't mean anything because Troy Brown etc etc.
That makes no sense.
K fair enough I accept those terms.
As for the rest of the question I never said that would make him elite tbh, I just don't think it'll happen with Manning's reduced throwing ability.
If it does happen, does it make him elite, yes or no.
The Ravens are apparently in "deep negotiations" with Dumervil, according to NFL Network.
That's good for Houston tbh. The Ravens were the only other team that really scared me as far as the Ed Reed situation goes.
