2009 had veteran experience (Billups) but the 2013 version is far more athletic.
Which version of the Nuggets was better, tbh?..

09' nuggets were clearly the better team than their current version tbh. they look good now because some teams who used to be contenders have dropped down the line (lakers, mavs)
09 was better, though this is deeper. Nene, KMart, Melo, Billups. JR off the bench...
'13 won't get as far as the '09, but I think they're at about the same level.
I'll take this 13 team that 09 team had a bunch of re s with zero basketball IQ.
This version is pretty good, and doesn't have all the Carmelo primma-donna bull ... that's always a plus, tbh
That said, it doesn't mean this team can reach the WCF, tbh
The 09 Nuggets were a fluke imo. Shot the 3-ball ridiculously well and got lucky in the tiebreakers to get the #2 seed.
I like this team much better than the 09 Thuggets
This team tbh...smarter and more athletic
this team is younger and more athletic than 09 but you must have a similar IQ as mcgee if you think this team has more brain than the 09' one tbh. 90% of billups's game was based on intelligence and as much as you denigrate melo for being a cancer or something, he was and is still a smarter player than anyone on their current squad tbh.
Tough to say. People have always been high on this team through the years. "Don't sleep on the Nuggets." "The one team you don't want to meet in the playoffs." ... Actually, they're EXACTLY the kind of team you want to meet in the playoffs. No superstar. No go-to guy. Even those Pistons went to Big Shot in the clutch. He was their star. People say it should be Igoudala but Iggy has had a terrible year (FG% down, FT% somehow down, too, lotta TOs) so it can't be him. I like the heart of hustle guys like Farried but I'm still not sold.
Andre Miller is pretty damn crafty
2013 simply because there is no go to guy, the whole team is rolling over people. 2009 still relied on Melo but at least Billups ran the offense when Melo was missing and Smith was driving recklessly.......to the hoop
2013 is better IMO. More depth, more athleticism. Less knuckleheads (Smith, Melo, KMart).
They're going to be a really tough out in the playoffs. I'd almost rather play the Grizzlies than Denver.
By far the 2013 team.
This. The Spurs finally have size on the perimeter, and although Prince is an upgrade over Gay overall (takes less shots, better defender) he still has to face Kawhi Leonard. They also shun 3s and can't defend them well enough. Tiago's done a good job on ZBo for the most part.
Denver is like a hydra; you don't know which head will strike.
Sounds a lot like the 2008-11 Blazers as well. Turned out to be 3 first round exits![]()
