Thought they did awesome defensively down the stretch. Nando did some good work on jack and kawhi did well on curry late in the game. Also Tim protecting the rim per par.

    A- tbh

8/10... I thought it was great most of the game, but slipped here and there... I'm just giving a little extra room because I think they can take it up one more level

    Important stats:

    D. Blair DNP - CD
    G. Neal DNP - CD

actually didn't mind Bonner out there... Pop recognized that he would be useful against the Dubs, especially given 'Avi Lee's lack of D.

I think Pop and Manu's message got through: the piss-poor defensive effort has nothing to do with TP being down. Step it the up. Props to Manu tonight, fantastic performance. We need this Manu so bad if we're going to take the West.

That was a step in the right direction for Manu which is right on point for playoff ball, duncan playing like its the early 2000's and parker due back.. Could be a very good playoff run.

Microball made an appearance briding the 3rd and 4th quarter
    Diaw/Bonner frontline

when teams put bigs on Bonner he can do well which was when he hit his 3s
then they started putting a guard on him and he disappeared

    Big 3 playing well
    Little 3 playing well

All we need is our top 6 to play well (starters + Manu).

Manu misses that 3 at the end and we're talking about his pathetic night...

Manu passing game is there more or less... he's on a terrible shooting slump and he needs to get over it...

But enough derailing this thread, tbh

The defense is what's the most impressive, last year we were letting everyone breeze by us we were just trying to out score everyone. Now it looks like we have interior presence and guys running out to the shooters consistently.

, if we can get this Duncan -- the one we've seen the past 3 games putting up monster games and dominating the paint against huge young dudes -- if we can get this Duncan consistently during a playoff run, then the league is ed.

He dominates , slows the entire game down. I feel like I'm in the Matrix watching him control the paint defensively. It's a ing clinic.

Same as we're used to, but if you're an outsider looking in you should be scared. You can't score consistently in the paint when TD is in the game. Need him for 38+ min in the playoffs.

Manu was pretty terrible but at least he did not lose his head at the end like many previous games.

Tiago Splitter, Danny Green, and Kawhi Leonard taking the minutes which used to go to He Who Shall Not Be Named and DeJuan Blair tbh.

Clamped down when it mattered. when the lead ballooned, they slacked off and let the dubs make a run. but once it got into question, they shut them DOWN.

Just one more level? They need to take up 2-3 levels more against the elite teams out there.

Golden State is a playoff team... they've been skidding a bit, but holding a team that averages 101ppg to 93 isn't too shabby... especially with our best player down...

You also need to be realistic. We can be better, but not current-Memphis better.

I am trying to be realistic. They can be as great as the Heat if they cut down drastically on the sloppy play and show more hustle on the 50/50 plays.

Of course you can always improve...but at a certain point its not going to get too much better. Teams like Memphis pick guys out specifically for their defensive ability and the current Spurs aren't built like that.
