    timvps Game Grades.
Could we be given an aggregate of these for the season?
    Month by month too?
Week by week would be cool too.

Any Stats Guy types who can / will do this?

Taking into account the past weeks, you're being a bit generous
unfortunately it's timvp who is overgenerous in his grades especially with Manu. that's my point

Those weeks wouldn't coincide with the weeks the starting point guard was out injured, would it? Too obvious?

All I asked is why you ask other people to do work to satisfy your curiosity. If you're interested in it, it's easy enough for you to go through the past grades and figure out the averages. Not sure if you choose to be lazy or think these tasks are below you, but you're the one asking the question so it makes sense that you might bother to figure out the answer.

But cool of you to jump right to attacking people without addressing what they've said to you.

We've been down this road before.
"Other people" are better then me at statistical research and technomological gadgetry thus can do in 60 seconds which would take me a month.
Thus some have done it, the entire board has thus benefited (not just me), such as when per my request you yourself banged out some excellent accurate stats on #1 seeds and where they finished playoffwise.

Ditto with photoshops. Others are vastly superior. They want to and do help.
Thus we get some great 'chops.

Do you know how to put values in a microsoft excel spreadsheet? Or rather, do you know how to look with your eyes, and type with your fingers on a keyboard?

    Here are timvp's grade threads

Put all of the numerical values for a given player in a particular column (in recent weeks, timvp hasn't provided a number grade, so come up with a corresponding number grade for each letter, i.e. 100=A+, 95=A, 90=A-, etc.).

Then, highlight the column and use the average function in Microsoft excel to average the column.

There you go. If you don't have microsoft excel, google docs is free.

Too dumb to write down on a piece of paper players names and grades then averaging them? Than most likely you wouldn't understand it if someone else did it.

I'm also curious about why do you need the average of timvp's grades.

Don't you have your own grading (based on your own observations and opinions) done for this season? You rarely seem swayed by opinions that don't conform to your own.

Those grades are based on set points that vary from individual to individual. And, those set points even change with changing expectations of what a player can provide for an "average" game.

The first fact makes grade comparisons between players difficult to judge. The second fact makes weekly or monthly averages of grades for any particular player difficult to interpret if you don't have a rigorous way of quantifying those changing expectations.

Example - coming off a reasonably strong showing in the olympics, an 8-17 (20 points) 4 assist 2 turnover game from Manu might have been a B- type game for him. Nowadays, that may very well be a B+ or A- game for Manu, given that our expectations of him have lowered over time.

    While i agree.....
Stats Guy never has verified that has he? I've seen him asked but never answered.
    Paraphrasing:
"Bonner did nothing on D other then being a traffic cone, was hesitant on O and passed up numerous shots. That having been said, he didn't strike and kill anyone with his car on the way into the arena." C

I sincerely think it would be interesting to many and would like to add to the boards overall atmosphere.

Yes i have my own grading system and yes I am rarely swayed by others.
It's not why i am asking, but i think as a side Greg CIA Pop the HOF coach has averaged about a C or less over his last 10 games in timvps grading system.
I'd love to say he is going to turn it up in the playoffs but the days of him having 3 prime HOFs on the floor with the best role players in the game have long since coatailed off.
I'm also very interested in marketing, and like to see how people "buy" even if it's stuff i would never buy and think it's asinine for them to buy.

If you would spend half of the time, you are spending for excuses, to search for timvp's grades, learning spreadsheet and statistics - the table would already be made.

    Wrong.
    I just entered in search:
    Quick Grades
    timvp

The top find was March 22 vs Jazz
    Then March 24th vs Rockets.
The next 20 are from 2010.
