Mentally weak players need to prove themselves in actual games, tbh..
We'll see what happens here...
Vince Young's comeback trail continued on Tuesday, as he worked out in front of pro scouts during the Texas Longhorns' Pro Day. Young, who led the Longhorns to a national championship over the USC Trojans in 2006, is taking 15 credits at Texas to finish his degree -- but make no mistake, Young is attempting to get back into the NFL.
Young "put on a show" according to NFL.com's Gil Brandt, which will certainly help him in his quest to return to the NFL:
Brandt was more effusive in his praise, saying Young "put on a show" and was "magnificent" passing the ball in the pocket and on the run. Brandt touted Young's accuracy; a few of Young's long tosses to Texas receiver Marquise Goodwin drew "oohs" and "aahs" from the crowd.Young himself was quoted saying he did "OK," but certainly, it appears that the former No. 3 overall pick turned some heads on Tuesday.
The Buffalo Bills released Young prior to Week 1 of the 2012 NFL season. Young signed a contract with Buffalo in May 2012, but did not make Buffalo's final 53-man roster.
If Young proves to scouts that he's bettered his mechanics, pocket presence and football intelligence, he could be given a chance to earn a roster spot. TheOakland Raiders could make sense as a destination for Young, and NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported that the Raiders had "preliminary" talks about bringing Young in for a workout.
The Raiders could end up cutting Carson Palmer this offseason, as Palmer showed his reluctance to restructure his contract. Oakland could save $5 million by cutting Palmer, who has been ineffective since coming to the Raiders.
Currently, Oakland has Terrelle Pryor, Matt Leinart and Palmer as quarterbacks on its roster. If Oakland does cut Palmer, it's a virtual certainty that the Raiders will seek out another quarterback and hold a compe ion during training camp.
Tennessee drafted Young with the No. 3 overall pick of the 2006 NFL Draft. Young had mixed results with the ans, but started his career off with success. Young was named to the 2007 Pro Bowl, and was named the Associated Press' NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.
Young's career went quickly downhill, however, as the former Texas star threw just nine touchdowns in 2007, while throwing 17 interceptions. Despite Young's inefficiency, the ans made the playoffs.
ans coach Jeff Fisher benched Young in 2008 after Young was injured, and decided to let Kerry Collins start the entire season. Collins led the ans to a 13-3 record.
Fisher eventually named Young the starter again in 2009, after Tennessee started 0-6. Young, however, was released by the ans after the season, and would sign as a backup quarterback in Philadelphia in 2011 -- part of theEagles' "Dream Team" that never was.
It's improbable that Young will ever be an effective starting quarterback in the NFL, but if he continues to impress scouts, there's a very good possibility that a team will take a chance on Young, and let him compete for a backup role.

Meh, Drew Henson got a starting job over Tom Brady and an NFL contract all because he looked good throwing in shorts and a t shirt.
Can't hate. Always good to see people make a comeback after hitting rock bottom. Sometimes one has to learn a lesson to be humbled.
John Skelton, Brady Quinn, some other no-name Zona QB, Blaine Gabbert...if these pieces of trash can still get snaps in the NFL, Vince can get a job as a backup.
Sports radio in Austin has become unlistenable with the VY homerism. The dude in blows.
He is the definition of n!ggerball and gives quarterbacks like Wilson and Griffin III and maybe even Cam bad names.
They're already paying Kyle Orton. They have more pressing needs than a 3rd string quarterback.
uhhh its obvious this team has more pressing needs than a 3rd string. i think everyone realizes that. i still think vince can be a valuable asset to a team and jerry should consider him. besides, orton is on the last year of his contract and he will not be resigned. its time we get some compe ion at the qb spot to push that scrub of a qb we have.
Raiders with VY = 19-0
all he does is win
That would be quite a QB compe ion, Tony Romo versus Vince Young. Real fight to the death
of course vince isn't goingto beat out tony, but the cowboys need to bring in players to keep him looking behind his back. also, the league is now the black qb's league. vince would beast in a read option styled offense. romo's days are numbered.
So you want to replace the "scrub" QB with another scrub QB. Great logic there.
can you tell me why it isn't a good idea to have vince as a backup and use him in read option packages?
and romo sucks, dude will never win us a playoff game, or superbowl.
Romo has 1 more career playoff win than Vince Young does tbh imo fwiw lamborghini mercy
Because they have more glaring issues that need to be taken care of at the moment. They also don't have enough cap space to try and fix some of those glaring issues and sign another backup QB.
If only Fisher didn't give him the Del Rio doghouse treatment (), he would have rang by now, in my most humble opinion.
Not that I know any other radio scros from Austin but Geoff Ketchum is that and he basically said he sucks.
Because Vince Young sucks worse than Rm
ch
ke and should never see the field if you want to win football games.....
that's not saying much. romo has way more weapons at his disposal and only has 1 victory against a scrub eagles team, sad.
