Feels a bit disturbing that we're only up 2 when we played pretty well I thought.

But Demonkey got too many easy baskets and TP was a bit off on D as well.

was it rust though? Or the hammy?

Probably some of both. Hammies are so hard to come back from, and being afraid of reinjuring it can mess with your movement. He was really cranky with Pop
for holding him out for so long, but I think once those hammies or leg pulls of any kind (for example, Neal) get going, it takes forever to really really heal enough so that it is unlikely to get reinjured relatively easily, as appears to have happened here.

Can't imagine it was the hammy. He had ample rest, no reports of re-injuring and with Pop he wouldn't play him unhealthy.
He actually came back early from the last 'hammy' injury... I remember, I was there.

Yeah, and with Tony going down you have to wonder if he wasn't soldiering it

Singlehandedly when? The year Parker won finals MVP as a 25 year old over a just out of prime Timmy? The year Robinson, health issues and all was still one of the better centers in 99? Or the year they played the NETS in the finals? Look Duncan is a legend, top 10 player, tops at his position but he has ZERO case over Shaq or Russell at least in terms of peak or prime. Maybe due to longevity he has an okay case. Although Russell's 11 rings as the best player pretty much lock him into the top 5. As for my comments about DJ.. I simply said physically he has all time great tools. Too bad he doesn't have the brain to accomplish more than solid starter.
Listen dude, just because you started watching the NBA in 2002 after your balls dropped doesn't mean you can come on this forum and start talking . This is Spurstalk and your trash takes are going to be called out here.

The so-called weak le over the Nets you're referring to is after The Spurs went through the Suns, the ing Lakers, and the Mavs, BEFORE they got to the Nets. The fact that Duncan did it essentially on his own is a testament to his legacy, something Shaq and Russell never had to DREAM of doing.

Btw against Shaq, the guy you say is clearly better than Tim, Duncan's stats for that series: 28 PPG, 12 RPG, 5 dimes, and over a block per. All while being the ONLY consistent threat the Spurs put on the court.

If you're going bring your takes with the same level of IQ you accuse your center of having, you need to go downstairs. I have no quarrel with you but I'll shut that weak down every time in this forum.

It's really disheartening to see Manu go down. He has become the quintessential symbol for why everyone deep down doesn't believe this team is a contender.

Given how long Pop held him out before he was probably scared to say anything about it. He really does need rhythm more than most guys, though, so I think he is not likely to be very helpful for the balance of the season even if he comes back. We will for sure miss his intelligence and guts though.

I remember Duncan outplaying Shaq in that series. Although it's idiotic to use just one series to judge them as players on the all time list, not to mention Shaq was still dominant himself. I didn't come here to talk trash. I mentioned physically DJ is a of a specimen and when I used Russell/Shaq as the athletic, wingspan, height etc comparison you brought up Duncan which seemed odd.
