trayvon was racially profiled, followed, assaulted and murdered.

    that is a fact.

sadly a lot of americans still attach negative stigmas to young black men.

so i'm not surprised so many people are defending a woman beater/criminal because the victim in this case was a black teen.

a black teen who is being painted as a thug.

if this was a white suburban kid who was killed by a brotha i bet most opinions here would be different.

Looks like it's getting heated and personal between the state and Zimmerman's lead attorney.

    http://articles.orlandosentinel.com/...e-de-la-rionda

    [
Zimmerman prosecutor: O'Mara is a grandstander guilty of 'craven conduct'

Bernie de la Rionda says his office should not be sanctioned for hiding witness misstatement.

In a sarcastic, insult-laden pleading, the lead prosecutor in the George Zimmerman case on Thursday called defense attorney Mark O'Mara a "craven" duplicitous grandstander who "courts anything resembling a microphone or camera."

He also suggested that O'Mara was either unethical or does not know the meaning of one of the most common words in a defense attorney's vocabulary: exculpatory, an adjective used to describe a piece of evidence that tends to prove a suspect's innocence.

Bernie de la Rionda's pleading came three days after O'Mara asked Circuit Judge Debra S. Nelson to fine de la Rionda an unspecified amount, accusing him of hiding a key piece of information for seven months: the fact that his most important witness had lied under oath in April.

In his response today, de la Rionda admitted that he'd failed to disclose that until three weeks ago but said O'Mara hasn't shown any actual damage and thus, his office should be off the hook.

"No misconduct has occurred, nor should sanctions be rewarded to compensate counsel," de la Rionda wrote.

Important to note, de la Rionda wrote, is that the witness' misstatement has nothing to do with whether Zimmerman committed murder when he shot Trayvon Martin, the unarmed black 17-year-old, in Sanford last year.

Zimmerman is awaiting trial on a second-degree murder charge. He says he acted in self-defense.

O'Mara's request for sanctions is just grandstanding, de la Rionda wrote, the act of a lawyer guilty of "craven conduct." O'Mara "courts anything resembling a microphone or camera," he wrote, and should understand the awkwardness of other people making misstatements.

De la Rionda also pointed out that O'Mara has made misstatements, including when he told a judge that Zimmerman and his wife were indigent.
The state's main witness lied under oath about why she missed Martin's funeral, and the Martin family attorney lied about her being a minor, for some reason...:

    http://www.cnn.com/2013/03/06/us/flo...on-martin-case

(CNN) -- The state's chief witness in the Trayvon Martin murder case lied under oath, prosecutors say.

The young woman who says she was on the phone with Martin when he encountered George Zimmerman lied about her whereabouts at another time, the prosecution told a judge Tuesday.

The woman, whose name has not been released, had told prosecutors that she was in the hospital on the day of Martin's funeral. The defense then sought her medical records.

In court on Tuesday, the state said the woman, known as Civilian Witness 8, was not in the hospital, so there are no such records to be turned over.

Questions have long surrounded the woman. Martin family attorney Benjamin Crump first played an audio recording of the woman a year ago at a news conference. The recording seemed to have very poor quality.

Police said that as of that point they had not interviewed her.

Crump said the witness was 16 years old. But prosecutors have since said she was already 18 -- legally an adult -- on the night of the killing, February 26, 2012, in Sanford, Florida.

Martin, 17, was walking to the house of his father's fiancee after a trip to a nearby convenience store.

Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch volunteer, has acknowledged shooting Martin.

Crump has accused Zimmerman of killing Martin "in cold blood."

Zimmerman says he acted in self-defense.

Z and his lady, tried to hide their money, and intention to flee the country, etc. How can he be believed?

He stalked, he was armed and ready to kill, he confronted. He murdered as Martin "stood his ground" against Z's threat.

Zimmerman was going to flee the country? Also, it's become obvious that the 2nd degree murder charge is just nuts.

Prosecutors Say.. seriously, it shows the lack of evidence against Zimmerman that this is what is harped on.

Judge Kenneth R. Lester Jr. found that Zimmerman's deceit over cash holdings at his first bond hearing in April was not enough to hold him without bail. However, he also said he believed the suspect may have been planning to flee the country to avoid prosecution in the killing of Florida teen Trayvon Martin.

, Lester wrote about the first bond hearing and noted an undisclosed second passport kept in Zimmerman's safe deposit box.

"Notably, together with the passport, the money only had to be hidden for a short time for him to leave the country if the defendant made a quick decision to flee," the judge said. "It is entirely reasonable for this court to find that, but for the requirement that he be placed on electronic monitoring, the defendant and his wife would have fled the United States with at least $130,000 of other people's money."

From the racial murder rate thread? I remember that. It's hard to break it down with the Hispanic vs. non - Hispanic whites. Fitting for this thread though.

zimmercowards mommy writes a letter on the anniversary of an innocent child's death: "justice system failed us"

(CBS) ORLANDO, Fla. - The mother of George Zimmerman, the Florida neighborhood watch volunteer accused of fatally shooting teen Trayvon Martin during a confrontation in a gated community in Sanford, has released a letter criticizing the media and the justice system for their role in the case.

    P

The two-page letter, written by Gladys Zimmerman, was made public through the Twitter account of her son, Robert Zimmerman Jr., on Thursday, the one year anniversary of George Zimmerman's arrest.

VIDEO: Trayvon Martin's dad on losing his "heart and soul"
Zimmerman is charged with second-degree murder in the Feb. 26, 2012 shooting death of the 17-year-old Martin. He has pleaded not guilty to the charge, claiming self-defense, and is scheduled to go on trial in June.

The Zimmerman family reportedly went into hiding after the case became public.

In the letter, Gladys Zimmerman writes, "April 11, 2012 will be forever remembered by the Zimmerman family as the day the justice system failed us as Americans, and as a consequence an innocent man was arrested for a crime he did not commit, solely to placate the masses."

She writes that a "false narrative" of the case has been widely publicized based on the "little evidence" made available to the public.
"It is astounding that despite the vast amount of information and evidence now available that support George's self-defense claim, the majority of the media avoids its publication," Gladys Zimmerman writes.

She said the media, along with social media, has "made it their prerogative" to judge and sentence her son ever since the case was made public.
Gladys ended the letter by thanking supporters and promising that her son's trial will not disappoint.

"The truth will finally be revealed to many, but to some who have always seen through the narrative - the truth George always told will [not] be 'revealed,' but rather 'confirmed,'" she wrote.
On Thursday afternoon, Trayvon Martin's family and their attorneys issued a statement in response to Gladys Zimmerman's letter.

"The facts of this case are simple and straightforward," the Martin family statement reads. "We are confident that a jury following the overwhelming evidence against George Zimmerman will hold him accountable for killing our son, Trayvon Martin."

The Martin's call Gladys Zimmerman's view of the justice system "disingenuous and disrespectful to the very system that is currently affording [George Zimmerman] every available opportunity to defend himself."

"The arrest of an admitted killer is not violation of due process, it is due process," the statement says.
The Martin family says they hope the death of their son will help to prevent "other senseless acts of gun violence" in the future.

yea its sickening how this family is trying to convince the public that zimmercoward is innocent. if they felt like their son was innocent they'd just shut the up. here is the response to the letter from tray's family:

One year ago today, the State of Florida decided that there was evidence to charge George Zimmerman for second-degree murder for profiling, pursuing, and killing our unarmed teenage son. The facts of this case are simple and straightforward. We are confident that a jury following the overwhelming evidence against George Zimmerman will hold him accountable for killing our son, Trayvon Martin.
For the Zimmerman family to allege that the justice system doesn’t work, simply because they are unhappy their son was arrested in the first place, is disingenuous and disrespectful to the very system that is currently affording him every available opportunity to defend himself. The arrest of an admitted killer is not a violation of due process, it is due process. Most will agree that no one has been given greater consideration by the justice system for killing an unarmed child, than George Zimmerman.
We continue to pray that our son's death will serve as a catalyst in preventing other senseless acts of gun violence.

Police sergeant fired for Trayvon Martin shooting targets

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. (WFTV) -- Officials with Port Canaveral said a police sergeant has been fired after he brought Trayvon Martin shooting targets to a firearms training session.

Sergeant Ron King was terminated from the police department on Friday, according to officials.

Port officials said King brought two shooting targets which had an images resembling Trayvon Martin on them to a firearms training session on April 4.

King was supervising the training session and asked if anyone wanted to use them. Officials will not say if the targets were actually used.

"Whether his act was hatred or stupidity, none is tolerable," said John Walsh, CEO of Port Canaveral.

George Zimmerman's Defense Team Releases Texts and Photos to Fit Their Racist Narrative

The defense team for George Zimmerman, the man accused of killing unarmed teenager Travyon Martin, released dozens of photos and text messages of the 17-year-old murder victim in a seeming effort to portray him as a “gangsta” troublemaker.

It is unclear whether the texts and photos will be permissible in court, though attorneys for Martin’s family claim they represent “irrelevant red herrings.” Zimmerman’s attorneys are expected to use the “evidence” to make insinuations about Martin’s character, as the Zimmerman can be heardin a 911 call accusing the teen of being “up to no good” and “on drugs or something.”

The “evidence,” posted on a website run by Zimmerman’s attorneys, includes text messages from Martin discussing cannabis, a school suspension and a troubled home life, as well as several texts expressing interest in guns. The defense also posted 25 photos of Martin, some previously released on the internet, which include photo of the teen wearing gold teeth and flicking the camera off, as well as a photograph in which he appears to be smoking cannabis.

Benjamin Crump, an attorney representing Martin’s family, noted the irony of Zimmerman’s defense pushing a stereotypical image of Martin in a case already fraught with racial implications.

"Is the defense trying to prove Trayvon deserved to be killed by George Zimmerman because of the way he looked?" Crump said in a statement obtained by NBC. "If so, this stereotypical and closed-minded thinking is the same mindset that caused George Zimmerman to get out of his car and pursue Trayvon, an unarmed kid who he didn't know. The pretrial release of these irrelevant red herrings is a desperate and pathetic attempt by the defense to pollute and sway the jury pool."

Because the prosecution is going to portray him as an innocent kid...

How many of you freaked because George has a conceal carry permit?

You blame guns, now Martin's right at the forefront. If his parents didn't expose him to guns, who did...
