It's the same reason Chris Petersen turned down the football job, tbh.... they're obviously happy building up their current programs, and don't want to deal with the dysfunction of Gene Block and Dan Guerrero and the delusional expectations of the fans....

I think you're right about Block and Guerrero, also maybe the fact that maybe they don't see themselves as West Coast coaches. Ridiculous expectations or not, the contract Alford got is a lot of money to turn down imo.

Not happy the Buckeyes lost, but it's great for Wichita to be able to get to the Final 4. Great also for Gregg Marshall, who has been a terrific coach going back to his days at Winthrop.

USC should throw the bank at Marshall. He is likely bitter for not getting a sniff from UCLA, after he not-so-vaguely campaigned for the gig last week. There is no reason USC can't beat UCLA for LA recruits with the right coach.
