I watched Game of Thrones. Then I watched this.
Wow.
This is my favorite show...I never really followed a series before this because I'm just a huge fan of Sports and movies, never into TV shows. Season 1 was amazing, granted it was 6 episodes. Season 2 was really lame up to the last 3 episodes which ing delivered, season 3 was awesome and picked up the pace up until the mid season finale. Since then it's been a bad nightmare I cant wake up from like the Lakers season. ing season finale made me more pissed off than that guy who says in Rudy gay.
Prefer the first season. These season-long set pieces are disappointing, season 3 especially so.
Deflated interest. There's so much more they could do with this show, but it seems they've put a cap on imagination and innovation.
I've never seen a show take such a nose dive into so quickly. Each episode was worse than the previous.

I thought last night's was a good episode, but a season finale. It neither closed off existing narrative arcs nor established new ones for next season.
The season finale should have been something they used three episodes ago to build up the conflict between the two groups. Instead, they didn't leave with a satisfying conclusion and they also thinly spread a story over three hours. This shows fallen into that group of shows that I've found myself watching, but not really enjoying. I think part of it is that I've been with it from the first season, so there's a reluctance to turn it off completely. Another part is that the show has had so much writer turnover over the last three years, the optimist in me is waiting for it to turn around.
The writing of this show reminds me of the disjointed writing we saw during the Writer's Strike.Lot of shows came back from that with weird writing that didn't quite mesh with what happened before.

fuuuuck. "oooh, he's so mean". move on already. we met him, saw his good guy/bad guy routine, did some torture and killed his own people. there's nothing left for him to do except die or maybe get cornered somewhere with no way out.
For the people that are happy Andrea is dead, dont get your hopes up. I'm sure she'll get replace with an even bigger dumb .
Also for the people wishing Carl dead in season 4. The writers will first kill everyone, including Rick before they kill this got in training.
And that's a main reason why the writing is so terrible. How can a TV show unite an entire fanbase to want the 12 year kid's head off?? Bad acting alone won't do that alone.
Rumor on The Walking Dead boards is the original script for the finale was to kill off EVERYONE except for Rick, Carl, Michonne and Daryl. Also, it was supposed to keep you wondering if Glenn and Maggie survived or not from the battle with the Governor. The governor was supposed to also be killed off. Lastly, Andrea was supposed to survive and be used at some point later in season 4, but the amount of complaints they got about the character made Glen Mazarra just want to focus the season finale on her death for some insane reason.
It's kind of amusing that the writers already had the source material to go with, but they instead choose to wing it and make a character like Andrea completely hated by the entire fanbase. I still wonder how this show has fans after they ed about every episode for years.
^Because it's better than nothing. It's the only first run stuff I've watched since "The Equalizer" over 30 years ago.
My issue with this show even though I'm a huge fan of it, is that it keeps changing the people behind the scenes every season dramatically. Think of it as a great sports team with a different coaching staff every season. It's direction just keeps changing year after year. This is the most watched show in television history btw, it had 12.4 million viewers for the season finale which shattered any sort of record like it. The show, even for die hards like myself, has become unwatchable in the last few weeks.
The real season finale should have been the episode Killer Within, where T-dogg and Lori die and leave you on the edge of your seat. This season finale was an insult, it felt like a bad film with a bad ending.
No, it's not. Instead of watching like this, you can watch Breaking Bad or Mad Men.
Why is this show even popular anyway? I read the comic up to chapter 50 and lost interest. This show seems to have completely screwed up the comic for no reason, yet people keep watching it in droves. Why? Is it because of the zombies (which are played out at this point)? I know it's not because of the plot or characters, because almost all of you hate the plot and characters. The general consensus is that the show went downhill after the first season (some would even say after the pilot episode), yet it still gets gigantic ratings. This thread has more posts than the Breaking Bad and Mad Men, and people actually like those shows.
Where did all this goodwill come from?
Because it was an awesome show and has glimpses of being awesome from time to time.
People find different reasons to tbh. I only had a major problem with the episode before Merle was killed. This show is not the best on TV but it sure as keeps me watching.
