US docs version of the Hippoctratic oath: "Above All, Do Get Paid"
http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/n...rance/2047569/Many doctors reported that they turn away these patients because they are unfamiliar with the Pentagon health care program known as Tricare. Others say they did not like how little they are compensated or how long it takes Tricare to reimburse them.
This is the future with ACA

Yep. We hear about all these doctors whining about Medicare payments, but every one of them take Medicare. Why? Because its a guaranteed payment.
Good ol Tricare. Go in with any ailment and come out with a jug of Motrin.
Probably a future sight into Obamacare.
The more greedy overpaid docs refuse medicare/medicaid/VA patients, the closer we get to a hard core public insurance option and non-profit, salaried govt-employed docs, nurses in govt facilities
medicare u can still rort it, quick turnover in/out patients 15mins....money money
Do they thank them for their service?
Drink water and drive on!
How true, how true.
The military's will cure everything drug.![]()
Simply reflecting how BigPharma has created a pill-popping culture in the general populace, where don't hesitate to pop a pill for anything and everything. I wonder how many $10Bs of pills the military buys from BigPharma, and if the military uses generics.
Boutons, I'm not often sick so I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure the military uses generics.
El Oh El
Bout 4 billion a year when I was overseeing the VA's pharm contracts and yeah, generics were on the program.
I don't see how vendors that have an interest in keeping prices high not liking something is a bad thing. Show me some polls about how tricare beneficiaries respond to it and I will care. What they are talking about here is true in all service fields. Vendors want to deal with private calls, they make more money off of them without the price controls and oversight. Why earn $500 a call through an insurer who is going to have you justify expenses for all of them when you can make $2000 off of private calls and they don't know any better.
That post made no ing sense at all.
Let's say you own a landscape clearing company. You have two ways of getting customers. One is via the public at large, walk-in, call-in, etc. Individual customers come in and you charge what you charge. Your other source of customers is through a real estate warranty company and they guarantee you a certain volume of customers but you have to negotiate the price with them constantly and they keep asking you why out of 100 calls you rented a cherry picker 15 times and refuse to pay for if you cannot justify it.Others say they did not like how little they are compensated or how long it takes Tricare to reimburse them.
Which are you going to prefer?
Unless you are a doctor or feel the need to advocate for them, I don't see how doctor's views on getting paid less and slower really matter as to what this implies for the rest of us. I think we need to reduce health care costs and part of that means doctors and hospitals and any other health care provider is going to get paid less.
If they're turning business away, they must be doing pretty good....
