Sammartino had that belt for such a long time up there in NY.. Close to 10 years wasn't it?
Superstar Billy Graham's intro music "Jesus Christ Superstar" was very inspiring. Extreme charge.
The Undertaker at prime was arguably the best promotion in the history of Pro Rasslin'. The human condition's fascination with death gave them an excuse to get close to it whether thru their TV, or, at the arena. This time facing a play on mortality they could grin & laugh, or, remain stoic & introspective. Like in real life.
***They had one in Cleveland back in the '60's named Wild Bull Curry. This guy had a skill to where he could hit the opponent with his fist and make the most un-Godly sound of flesh on bone. A very sharp crack. It was a knack and quite effective.
Bobo Brazil & The Sheik was legendary then. Went on for what seemed like a decade twixt Detroit & Cleveland. Brazil could never win. And you'd get frustrated by it (I was just a kid). They must have sensed that because they then started ins uting the 2 out of 3 falls match for them. Well, that solved it. Sheik would take the first fall in das ly fashion. Then Brazil would come out in the 2nd fall and just blitz him. He'd catch full, ko-ko butt him, but, wouldn't let him fall, and butt him 2, or 3 times more. It was just utterly dramatic. He then would pin him for fall 2, tied 1-1. Well, of course in fall 3 The Shiek would produce the legendary "foreign object" and would take the match. But, that small adjustment of the 2 out of 3 enabled Brazil to "win" and sate the customer. Ingenious.
Stacey Keibler.
Wrestling is fake. Why do you watch it?
A lot of Italian rasslin' fans in New York, That explains Bruno's longevity at the top.
Superstar Billy Graham the first steroid monster.
Wild Bull Curry made his name in Texas he ruled that state.
Bobo Brazil the first black to win a World le. The old WWA le in the LA area. The Sheik one of the greatest heels ever. Cat was out of Detroit.
Why does anyone watch movies, they aren't real. How many songs are based on a real life incident, so why listen? Steppenwolf never had no Magic Carpet Ride, and there was no Johnny B. Goode or Angel Baby.
Some are. But I guess you get off to watching men wearing Speedo's.
I really didn't read any of the posts in here. I saw something about the Von Erichs and my add kicked in. I remembered them when I was a kid living in Dallas. I Looked them up and that Granddaughter Lacey Von Erich.... nice.
Show me any rassler who wears Speedo's. I had a felling you knew..0...about this, yep. Do MMA fans just watch the sport because of .......
Come on girl.
So ya didn't read anything about the rasslin' but were looking up the Von Erichs as a kid......hahaha!!!!!!!!!
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/speedo?s=t
In vernacular use, close enough.
Ok, I didn't read any of the posts following the original post. Even then I only skimmed through it and saw something about the Von Erichs. I loved watching wrestling on Saturday morning and the Von Erichs were my favorites.
So you were watching....World Class Wrestling...out of Dallas. Yep, when daddy is the promoter and owner. Too bad about David Von Erich he had.."it".
Yeah, I used to live there so it was a big deal. I was a Texas Tornado fan myself.
Kerry Von Erich, what a tragic story. The guy could have had it all, to end up like it did....whoa.
