sigh. it's just not meant to be this year folks.

    maybe next year.
LOL NO, it's not anytime soon if you want to be honest. This team had it's best shot last year, period. They had the stars aligned pretty much and then went down. That was our last hoorah at a le run. This team will go maybe WCF, if they made the Finals by some chance it would take an Injury to Lebron to win.

I just don't get how Tony could be falling apart. He was out 2-3 weeks...and had what played 4-5 games since being back?? Unless he was already hurting before ankle injury??? It just doesn't add up
Idk but injuries are piling up at the wrong time...manu,Jackson.and now parker again.....sucks man....I hope things are different when the play offs start

JMcDonald_SAEN Pop: "I saw him come across half court actually limping at one time and said Tony, you’ve got to stop, so we’ll figure out what it is." 13 minutes ago

JMcDonald_SAEN The direct Pop quote on Parker injury was "My feeling is tendinitis, something in his shins or whatever." So it's kind of vague. 13 minutes ago

JMcDonald_SAEN Will TP play Sat vs. ATL? "We'll see," he says. 17 minutes ago

JMcDonald_SAEN Parker: "I just have to get healthy. I'm not going to give you any other answers than that." Pretty much is THE answer for Spurs. 19 minutes ago

JMcDonald_SAEN Parker in no mood to rehash medical chart. Kept repeating "I've just got to get healthy" and "I'll be alright" to any health question. 29 minutes ago

Would sitting Tony until the playoffs even help?

I do find it funny how Pop gets lauded for resting his players and focusing on health instead of seeding, and what have we got?

Manu? out. Jackson? out. Parker? out. Kawhi? Sore knee. Neal? Bad calf.
Having complete chaos surrounding the backup point guard practically the entire in' season surely has played a hand in these injuries. Thanks, Pop.

Imagine how bad it would be if Pop DIDN'T rest them! We just need to be honest and come to the realization that we need to rebuild with a young core...we have great old players, but that gets us no better than 2nd or 3rd round.

I know the truth is that we can't rebuild until Duncan retires...and it will be tough without him, but our window is on its last inch.

we can't continue to play every game worried about the health of our stars....I mean look at Thunder, no injuries, try to think back when the Spurs have EVER had no injuries?

Pop did well managing minutes this year but he was a total FAIL at getting a cohesive rotation implemented in a reasonable time frame. Playing in such a chaotic environment night after night may be suitable for 20 year olds on a D league minimum contract but hardly suitable for old vets like Parker & Ginobili.

Btw...mavericks proved 2 years ago that its possible to win with an older core so that's no excuse.

    Link?

Sad, if true. Our team is made of glass. They should have a "Fragile" warning on their jerseys, tbh.

Looks like it's just a guess of his.

And if true, so what. We went 6-2 without him earlier. Let him get his explosiveness and rest while Nando can play some meaningful minutes to get his confidence and keep his rhythm going, since he's been shooting the ball pretty well lately.

There's only 6 games left, 1 b2b. 3 home and 3 away. Going 4-2 would be pretty good considering the cir stances. Against ATL, SAC, and MIN at home, we should be able to take care of business.

We just need to steal a road win in either Denver, LA, or GS.

, Monroe blocked me on twitter, so I can't see his updates, but he has some insider, so I'll trust that.
    Bad bad news indeed.
Just secure the 2nd seed and then rest Timmy and Kawhi until the playoffs start.

He's just guessing. I would definitely shut Parker down for the next 3 games though.

Parker was rushed back. He looked light years better when he first came back from injury. Last night he was simply broken. And that's AFTER sitting a whole game.
He obviously strained himself by coming back at 70% when hr did, and now he's at 5% if that.

2009. I'd be surprised if he even has a playoff run.

I don't think he was rushed back. You guys have to look at this as non-linear. Let's say that at the end of his 3rd week to the sprained ankle, TP's MRI shows everything to be normal. Nothing looks out of the ordinary. He goes through is normal progression, he passes all physical tests and then he is released to play.
What doesn't show is what happens during gameplay. Not so much that his ankle wasn't ready for him to do all they dynamic moves needed, I think it's more to the point of opponents beating on his legs. We live in a day where to get the edge, we have players that straddle the fine line between physical and dirty. Manu was taken out by DeAndre Jordan. Did he mean to hip check him that hard? Probably not, but he did and now Manu is out for 3-4 weeks. With TP, it's the same way starting with Miami and through last night's game.
If he's out 3-4 weeks, it's now not just to allow him time to keep healing, but to allow him time to strengthen because for as physical TP is being treated now, in the playoffs, it gets ramped up. Ref shenanigans aside, TP's greatest asset in staying healthy it to be ready to be able to dish out as much as he takes back.

If true, ankle or foot stress fractures typically take 6 weeks to fully heal
