I've been saying it forever. All this resting players when they are not actually injured is bull . Play if you're healthy, sit if you're injured (not "hurt"). All this stopping starting for the body is the worst thing you can do. It never finds its rhythm and builds the tolerance to getting hurt. Besides, if you're gonna get injured, you're gonna get injured, nothing you can do about it. Case and point being Manu breaking his elbow on the last day of the season.

Pop over manages these guys...too many minutes, you don't know the system, changes lineups every night, you missed a rotation so you sit for 5 games (unless you're Bonner). He's gone from genius to mad scientist.

Phil never sat guys unless they were injured, and his teams were always healthy (Fat Shaq doesn't count because that was his own doing). He maybe sat a guy for a game or two at the end of the regular sesaon, but that was it. This is one thing Kobe learned....play through it. Sure he embellishes his injuries, but dude is super durable.
    truth

Miami looks better than they really are since they play in the weak Eastern Conference. When healthy, I think we'd have a shot. Granted, we wouldn't be the favorites, but there's no need to have such defeatism surrounding it. We gang banged LeBron the last time we met him in the Finals (granted, he was younger and dumber then).

Lebron was not near what he is today then, and he didn't have Wade or Bosh next to him, that 07 series is so long ago and irrelevant to how it would go now, plus no Bowen. I don't think Spurs would beat Miami, not being negative but honestly to me they would have no shot if they reached the finals without HC in a 7 game series vs. Miami barring injury.

it doesn't make any sense, if it was the case why would play him against OKC just the first half ?

I must have overlooked #67. 4-2 is a stretch without Tony or Manu, but 3-3 guarantees a top 2 seed. The Hawks have been hit by injuries too, and home games vs SAC and MIN should be wins regardless, so to answer my original question, yes, I think the Spurs can hold on to a top 2 seed if Parker sits the rest of the RS.

I don't think there's any chance at #1, though. Remember, the Thunder have the tiebreaker now; season series is tied 2-2 and the Spurs are guaranteed to finish with a better record vs the East, meaning the Thunder will have a better record vs the West if the teams end up tied.
I think #1 is highly unlikely, but it's at least not out of the question.

I think if it came to it, they could definitely steal one in OKC. They almost did last year had it not been for Perkins & Ibaka shooting a combined 18/20. (They won that game by I believe 5 points)

Last night, despite going down big, being injured, playing 4 games in 5 nights etc... They continued to battle and come back.

well I guess this is going to turn into an anti-Pop thread. to me, we were doing alright without Parker and he seemed determined to come back early. I don't think that was on Pop. I guess Pop could've vetoed it, but Parker probably pushed himself too much. He should've rested longer.

This team just can't catch a brake. well....that's not entirely true....Duncan survived an injury that could've been brutal, and he's been our no.1 or 2 option the whole season (per par).

This stress fracture is most disturbing though if true. I hope it's not, and I have no problems with him being shut down for awhile, let Nando and CoJo get more acclimated.

Real MVPs dont get shin tendinitis

    great sig btw Lefty.

Only hope for the Spurs is if Manu comes back early and is able to play well. Otherwise first round exit imo.

No random dude, but that's what someone he knows "thinks" Also mentioned it could be the ankle tendonitis that worked it's way up the leg.

Lot of speculation when Timmy went down, let's just hope we can catch a break here. I think TP should sit out the rest of the way at this point, even if it's not that serious.

One can't just speculate it's a stress fracture tbh. You need tests to confirm that. I doubt it's a stress fracture. Tony and Manu will be ready for the playoffs. Playing against Houston will get the team up and going for the rest of the playoffs tbh.

If the medical staff thought it was a stress fracture, wouldn't there have been reports by now that TP was scheduled for xrays (or even had the xrays)?

There is a world of difference between a flared up shin splints and a stress fracture.

Good point. Is there anybody that knows if TP underwent an MRI or something?

Let's wait until there's an official word on it before cliff jumping...

In the meantime, where's the "TP is made of glass" thread?
