Shin splints can be pretty serious, that's what ended Willie Andersons career.
he retired because he fractured his shins over and over. Even had a rod put in them. Once fractured them just by bumping into his bed. IIRC

Skip Bayless (who seems to have a source within the Spurs organization) seems to be worried about TP to the point of depondency.

However, I think TP is/will be fine. When the money is on the table we'll see that famous TP "burst." But not until then.

Skip Bayless bases most of his takes on speculation. TP will be fine.

I hope you are right, but what makes you say without a diagnosis he will just be fine? I mean no news is good news at times, but my GOD they are waiting for a long time to even say a word about it.

I could be wrong but if it were a major injury it would have leaked by now.. I'll roll with Tendonitis, Parker came back very quickly, was probably thinking to himself that he needed to be back sooner than later to help this team and when that happens people tend to go too strong, too hard too fast.

"Tony Parker has a stress fracture which was caused by "glass in the eye" which entered his cornea last year and took all season to gradually work it's way down to his shin. Stress fractures caused by night club glass are very rare but when questioned Tony said, "I just need to get healthy. I need to help zee Spurs keep the #1 seed so we can beat zee Lakers"

TP has a flair for the dramatic. He has a bit of Kobe in him when it comes to heroically emerging from injury.

I think he will present himself to save the day when the moment is right.

If it really is shin splints or a stress fracture, however, I doubt that TP will ever be the same player. So you can take your pick till we know for sure.

Dude, shin splints end careers. Become more aware.

But you're right, it's not cancer.

This is the San Antonio Spurs we are talking about. CIA Pop isn't going to let ANYTHING leak.

Tbh, Tony is aging and may never be the same again just because of age, per par. He turns 31 in May and, as a player who is very reliant on his speed and quickness, he could fade quicker than Manu, IMO.

Of course, that's just speculation, but speed generally drops off as one ages into the mid-30s. We've seen it with Manu, though his game isn't as dependent on blazing quickness as Tony. It would help Tony a lot if he could develop a consistent three-point shot, but he hasn't as of yet (he can hit them when spotting up in the corner wide open at a halfway decent rate, but that's about it).

im going to disagree and so no resting players.

Healthy, cold Td/TP/Manu isnt going to win us a ring. It will probably get us to second round.

We need them healthy and hot.

Play them 35-40 minutes and have them match fit for the playoffs. The risk of injury is something we will have to take.

Our big 3 have forgotten how to play 40 minutes and lets face it, we need them for 40 in the playoffs because our roleplayers disappear.

I say take the risk and run them to the ground.

Id rather have a smaller shot at the ring than a bigger shot of winning a 1v8/2v7 play off series

By this point, no news is good news, tbh.

Let him rest until the playoffs start. Screw seeding.

Remember when Pop limited Tony and Manu's minutes when they were younger? Looks like that was pointless. lol
