The Los Angeles Clippers don't have any championship banners up at Staples Center, and Blake Griffin wants to keep it that way until they win an NBA le.
The Clippers' franchise, dating to their inception as the Buffalo Braves in 1970, has never won a division le. But the team's next win, or a loss by the Golden State Warriors, will give the Clippers their first Pacific Division championship.
It's a moment Griffin is looking forward to, but he hopes the team doesn't hang a banner commemorating the occasion in the same rafters that hold the Los Angeles Lakers' 16 NBA championship banners.

This really presents a problem for the Clippers.
Say they win a couple of championships where would they put the banners up? How much room is there left up there?
Sharing an arena with another team was bad to begin with. It was just tolerable because the Clippers were terrible for so long but now they have a legitimate shot at putting up something resembling an award at Staples.

He wouldn't have a problem with the clippers hanging up the division banner if he felt capable of putting up a championship banner next to it someday.
The fact is, silverback griffin knows he is pacific & DONE, so having a division banner standing there all alone until the end of times next to all that Laker greatness, would be pretty ing ridiculous.
