I don't think he can rivalize with Irving. Irving probably is going to be the best Pg in the league in the next few years. But Kawhi is the second best in that draft imo.
Ok so Manu is out for the 1st round most likely. This makes Kawhi 3rd option. I completely see him showing the NBA he's arrived and start rivaling Irving for best in class, really if the Spurs make it deep and he stays 3rd option.

With playoffs like 18-7-3 on good % and good defense I think he definitely rivals Irving currently. I feel like he could do better than that too because I imagine he'll play a lot more minutes
Dude has big time moves
He needs to be top 3 option in our ofense
I don't see why not. The playoffs is the perfect time for players to break out. I still remember back when Tayshaun Prince broke out in 2003 and blossomed later on. Kawhi is definitely the second guy on this team producing right now and we are gonna need that for any type of chance to play the Thunder in the WCF, setting up a true classic
Kawhi has had a good stretch, but let's calm down. Once other teams start to focus on him, things could change. I think he'll be a solid performer this postseason, but I wouldn't expect anything All-Star worthy, tbh.
He'll have a better post-season that either Manu or Jack's '03 performance. I do think Kawhi will have a break out post season; with the way he's playing now, there's no reason not to expect this.
According to...? Some quotes today indicate he'll be ready come game 1.
Honestly, this forum always has unrealistically high expectations for players. Splitter was supposed to come in and dominate a few years ago. Baynes was going to be our third big in the NBA Playoffs and be a key cog in our le Run this year.
Etc....
Just don't be disappointed if he averages something like 10 PPG in the Playoffs is all I'm saying. He'll be a valuable contributor, for sure.
He MUST get more shots, he could've easily gone for 30+ today if he wasn't getting less touches than Cojo. I'd like him to bring the ball up more often, he usually scores when he does this.
agreed except for Kawhis 2013 playoff expectations. ive got him penciled in for 20/10/5 breakout postseason run
20/10/5? Yeah, good luck with that.
Kawhi is gonna absolutely have to breakout if the Spurs want a legit shot at the 'ship. If he under-performs then so will the Spurs.
19/9/5 would be cool to. but with his increase in minutes and the iffy role players shying away from the spotlight, i think he can put up big numbers. we'll see.
Kawhi is not better than Klay T
12 PER Klay Thompson that has the worst offensive rating of the Warriors rotation players and doesn't contribute in any other facet but scoring?..
....What?
Some fans post the dumbest on here I swear. Our fans do as well, but some other fans like you just say the dumbest !
Ask them if they would trade for Kawhi! I bet the answer would be![]()
