Only about two weeks away from the start of the postseason. We all know it's Lebron's and the Heat's Championship to lose, but no reason to not be excited about it (especially with the high possibility of a certain LA team not taking part). What potential matchups are you looking forward to most? What does your team need to do to gear up? Any concerns? What is your team's realistic ceiling? When/if your team is eliminated, what team(s) would you find yourself rooting for? Etc, etc.
I would appreciate it if non-playoff teams refrained from posting within this thread. Thank you.
it woulda been hilarious had they had an unveiling after the game, with stern coming out and handing over a trophy and shirts plus caps. tbh.
threads like this one have missed ston & warriors fans bad in the past years tbh.
I'm excited to see how Favors and Hayward respond in their second playoffs, respectively.
Agreed. Gonna be fun to have some new blood in the playoffs this year. Bucks are also back for the first time in a couple seasons. Could be entertaining if Jennings, Ellis, of Re get hot for a few games.
some teams are a big question mark, IMO... Denver without Gallo, Rockets with bearded man... Spurs don't yet know if Manu or Tony will be there for the 1st round...
On paper, the 1st round out West doesn't look that interesting, but all those things could make it watchable, tbh
Anywho, Spurs need to get healthy. If they can hold onto the first seed, great, but at this rate they're out in the second round. Drawing Golden State or Utah would be great to get into rhythm. Kinda hope they get the Grizz in the second round, but the Nuggs wouldn't be a bad draw either (provided Lawson isn't close to 100%).
checkin in
If KL doesn't steal Hayward's soul again that guy will be Manu-lite.
Rockets are the only lower seed with a chance to get to the second round tbh. Can't see GS beating Denver even with their injury woes.
Hope Rockets play the Spurs just so I can catch some games
Pray to Lord Kobe that Lin doesn't go Linsane during the playoffs.
When Lin drops 20-30 points, 40-60 points by our backcourt, Rockets just doesn't lose.
Lin's gonna get rocked in these playoffs imo. What makes ya'll dangerous is James Harden; he'll be the only superstar in a potential matchup with Denver. Asik will also be great for ya'll tbh. It'll be interesting to see how your rookie Montiejunas does as well.
I see the Lakers maybe going 3-2, 4-1 if Stern refs the games himself.
Lakers
4/9 vs NOH
4/10 @ POR
4/12 vs GSW
4/14 vs SAS
4/17 vs HOU
Jazz
4/9 vs OKC
4/12 vs MIN
4/15 @ MIN
4/17 @ MEM
You don't say...Rockets might have a chance to take the Lakers out of the playoffs on the last game?
Jazz go 1-3 IMO. OKC wins that road game with the refs in their back pockets per par, Memphis definitely wins at Fedex and the Wolves game is a toss up, but Jazz probably cough it up.
The question is can the Lakers win 3...
Portland is a loss for sure, Spurs is probably a loss as CIA Pop will do everything he can to stop them from making the playoffs, that leaves us to the final game of the year, against Houston
Memphis might be resting their starters on that final game if their seeding is locked in.
Not sold the NOH game will be a cakewalk... you heard it here first...
Neither team will go far in the first round tbh. If OKC clinch the 1 seed, it'll be a sweep.
Portland is on a 8 game losing streak and are eliminated from the playoff race. They dont care, Lakers winning that. Hornets on the other hand dont want a season sweep so they goin in the Lakers ass IMO
