what does avante have to do with this?!? this thread isn't "too much" to me either, there is nothing really unique or thread worthy about almost getting into an accident. i think most san antonio drivers dodge 1 or 2 bullets a day. *shrugs*

i just suggested cosmic start a blog because a lot of his threads a centered around his everyday life: latest happenings at the ranch, his mom being a dead eye shooter, stories about teen drivers on interstates, him cooking a steak using a soo woop, making a salad using week old lettuce, etc.

Was coming back to San Antonio yesterday from a wedding in Ft.Worth and took the scenic route coming home...cut across to 281 from Alvarado and headed south. I was a few miles south of Lampasas on a 4 lane stretch without a median...traffic was pretty heavy but flowing smooth...I was southbound running 75 and my wife was asleep in the passenger seat. I stilll don't know exactly what happened but suddenly there was a northbound out of control rocking jeep full of teenagers right in front of me..I assume he was texting or not paying attention and ran up on the car in front of him too fast and instead of hitting him jumped out in my lane...man...it happened that fast. I popped the brakes and bailed for the shoulder and we just cleared each other by about a foot or so going 120+ mph right at each other. I got off the brakes when I hit the dirt and rode it out until I slowed enough to get back on the road...I was lucky there wasn't a culvert there but I would have taken a culvert over a head on with that jeep. Funny thing is my sister had just texted me and I had considered texting her back and decided to wait until I stopped. If I had been looking down at my phone when that happened we would have all been dead.

that's why i never drive faster than 90 mph even on freeways. i have total confidence in my driving skills (in fact my skills have been improved alot since last time i got busted in south palm beach) but you can never assure everyone has good skills and such high level of security awareness that i have. a cautious driver would never exceed 100 mph imho, so even if a head strays in my way i'd have enough time to stop my car
