I'm not talking about it as just Jack being waived (Spurs could and would win without him), but the underlining meaning behind it and all the other things piling up. Morale is in the ter now, everyone is banged up, and the team has no rhythm. Jack was having a bad year, but he was still a veteran who brought mental and physical toughness, which the team needs desperately.

Pops Mensah-Bonsu...
Come on down!
Yeah always liked him as a player; can play multiple positions and can fill the stat sheet (other than points of course).
Spurs don't have to sign anybody, just play Leonard 40 minutes and its a net gain for the Spurs. Jackson was that bad this year.
it's reported on KSAT that pop and jack had big disagreements on how to use jack .....this has been going on before the Denver game
Again, from a basketball perspective it's only bad because of the Diaw injury (because as bad as Jack was, I trust him as a SBPF more than Bonner/Blair) but overall not a huge issue. It just speaks to the state of the team though and this signals a deeper issue overall.
Basketball wise it hurts with Diaw out, but not catastrophic.
Problem with that (if it comes to it) would be against OKC. Kawhi is bound to get into foul trouble at some point and there's no one else to throw at him and more importantly be physical with him.
Ah ok. Yeah I suppose that's fair. Granted, we've always been under the radar so the lack of media coverage isn't much of a surprise, although I kind of hope the media jumps on it and investigates further. I really want to know the details of what happened between Jack and Pop and/or the Spurs FO, and those kinds of details won't come out unless the media pressures the Spurs F.O. to say something (although simply pressuring the Spurs F.O. with questions doesn't guarantee that such questions will be answered, but still).
Jax will be out of the league bc of this. He's stupid. When you look like you got nothing left and then you throw such a tantrum that Pop waives you, you are done.
Jax is overrated on this site. He's not Rob Horry. Only issue is we are thin at the three. But Jax must have locker room cancer to get waived four games before the playoffs and the injury situation what it is. Jax is dumb and selfish doing this to his teammates and himself.
LOL, no wonder they didn't cut Blair.
Well I'll be the first to eat my sandwich for defending this guy. I don't hate him, but it's unfortunate it's come to this.
I'm still happy we got rid of RJ in the process at least.
What a terrible ending to a season that was lost 2 weeks ago.
Yeah. Is Brown available? I know they think he's more PF, but we're talking about a non rotation spot here and someone who'd be used strictly in specific match-ups or in case of injury or foul trouble to Leonard. He's not as good a defender as McGuire, but he's not a bad defender and he's a better shooter.
I'm surprised this move didn't come in conjunction with a replacement. Considering the limited amount of time they have before the playoffs, you'd think they'd want to bring someone in as soon as possible. I don't get it.
He probably just told pop that he was a fukin overrated piece of crap and his lineups werd full of .
He is playing in Russia where he has a good season.
Stephen Jackson was hanging out with Matt Bonner too much, Pop didn't want Bonner hanging with the wrong crowd, hence he was let go.
With Diaw's injury Jax was slated to get minutes at the 4
Jackson must have really f-ed up for the organization to go in this direction. As a team with injuries to two of your three core players and your third bigman, getting rid of another body provides toughness and versatility is counterproductive despite his numbers. Yes, Jackson has been a terrible player this year--but I'm sure he would've contributed something positive during the postseason. At the very least he was an option, now the Spurs no longer have that.
The replacement has most likely already been decided but I don't expect much.
Could they just bring Bertans over sooner since we won't get a difference maker anyway?
I don't really care about what happened, but what it means for the postseason and maybe even beyond.
Spurs won't make any changes.. they're subtraction by subtraction just shows where this team is headed.. Why can't I come on here and see that we cut Matt Bonner.
I would be okay with it if we had James Anderson sitting in d-league. Huge hole made especially considering Diaw is ailing.
