Yeah. All that disciplin never amounted to anything other than milking a player for all he's worth, resulting in crisp offense and stingy defense.
And 4 rings
Is Pop coaching grown men or children? These guys don't get paid millions of dollars to get pampered.

CIA Pop knows what he's doing. Right?
RIGHT?
LMFAO Defensively worse? ARe you serious? Good decision? Who the are they going to play now at SF backup? A PG? Neal? This is not a good decision and it doesn't help out at all, this team is very short on bodies now and it just got worse. They went from deep and clicking last year to this crap![]()
i haven't read thru this whole thread, sorry bu 's blowing up worse than my diarrhea.
but didn't someone on here say that Jack had a major meltdown recently. freetiago of course said that wasn't true, because he's like an expert or something, but I'm thinking maybe there is some truth to that poster's claim.
Replace Jackson's name with Horry in any of our past championship years.
What in the ? This is utterly useless. Why would we just dump him like this? There has to be another side to this story
Anyone who signs with the Spurs right now won't make the playoff roster...
Just going to mean more minutes for Leonard ... a much more productive player.. and to a lesser extent Green. Jackson was probably not going to muster anything for the post season anyway given his anemic season... he was '08 Horry waiting to happen tbh...
I'm sick to my stomach now with the thought that Bonner will now get more playing time and will play the 3 in spurts during the playoffs for his "reliable" 3 point shot.
I'm a die hard spurs fan but this... shakes my confidence quite a bit. Absolutely 0 since (from the outside looking in) Can't pawn his contract in at the deadline and 6 weeks later you cut him with the salary still on the books?
We had 2 SF's Leonard has had Tendonitis in his knee since November that has been problematic (we've been resting a 22 Y.O along with are 30+ players). Spursnation mentioned him logging at least 40 minutes a game. Or even play an entire game (unheard of for the spurs in recent years).
1 SF who is also the primary defender of big wings like Durant, Kobe, & Lebron. What happens if he picks up a couple of fouls in the 1st 6 minutes. Is there a 6'8 physical SF on the market who can fill in for 6 minute stretches at a time without the defense (or offense for that matter) suffering. Diaw has plenty of experience on the wing and has decent quickness but he is out for at least the 1st round and probably the second round as well. He is also the backup 4 or 5. If we don't sign anyone are we going to Play Duncan & Splitter 36 minutes a game and have Bonner/ Blair/Baynes fill in at Center (assuming Leonard shifts to PF) for up to 10 minutes a playoff game? WFT?
You don't have Manu you don't have Diaw and you are letting go the only guy other then Kawhi to guard Durant. We are so going to get spanked in the playoffs..![]()
Not surprised Jackson has been released. You have to be blind or stupid to think he was remotely good this year. Jackson had no future with this team. He barely had a present.
What I am surprised by is the timing though. They should have done this weeks if not months ago if they were going to do it. Right before the playoffs though? What the ? There's only 4 games left. They couldn't wait until after the playoffs to cut ties? Timing seems horrendously awkward.
Not pissed or upset he got released, but disappointed they did it now. Should have either waited or done it way sooner. Poor move imo due to terrible timing. The guy didn't exactly seem like a locker room cancer. I don't see why he couldn't have been at worst a cheerleader and emergency fill in unless he's been moaning about his minutes and touches.
Manu and Leonard better be 100% is all I got to say.
This and injuries to Diaw, Manu, Splitters sporadic play (generous, I am). Neal looking Benjamin Button (His first season was his best and this season has looked like a rookie, with horrid D, unsightly dribbling and just clanking open looks he would have nailed in 10-11). Parker and Duncan seeming like they haven't played (healthy) together since Early March. Us going 5-5 in our last 10 games and choking away #1 seed and home court (against OKC & Miami).
If we win a le it would make one uvah championship DVD.
Jack crying in the airport when he found he was traded to us last year...
crocodile tears from one crazy mofo playing poorly this year.
Not to worry, he has got Artestmettaslow watching his back.
The timing is so poor it must have gotten bad in the locker room.
Patronize me if this has already been posted but SJAX tweeted "Thanks to all my fans for the support and love. I would never say a player is better than me when I know their not. Not for no one." What an ass tbh, the dude has played like all year, BRING ON THE PLAYOFFS!!! GO SPURS GO!!!
Is he referring to Leonard? If so, that's crazy.
I like Jax, but if he tweeted that, then like Bruno said, him.
Nah, Green and this season's Manu. Not that it makes it okay (nor true).
Lol at all the "shaken" spurs fans right now....you'd think they released Duncan? You could argue jack was the worst player on the team, this year...and it wouldn't even be much of an argument really. I didn't see how he was helping the team? Time for kawhi to get the workload. And what does Stephen get so much credit for his d? He's the slowest guy on the court and can't keep up with anyone. He fouls too much and es even more. 2003 was great, but that was over a decade ago...come on, people.
Jax's true colors showing...there's that thug so many of you wanted on the team. I think he's owed a " yo tweet, clown"!!
If he's referring to Leonard, someone check him into a mental clinic...now. he can't be though...the truth will come out at some pt but seriously, why would you want this turd around your young star. I would think he's the exact opposite "type", that they want around kawhi.
That was waived after March 1st...
We lose the ability to trade him to a team wanting a $10 million salary dump, right? So the relationship must have seriously deteriorated. Jan should have realized from his first severance with the Spurs that Pop doesn't take any or disruption within the team, especially from a player who has shown so little this year..
Hey, atleast I can still think back to it working out in 03 and him getting PT and helping us win a le! Thats the memory I will keep of Jax.
