Went to Spurstalk for the first time since someone informed me that they had a thread about me there ( you guys, btw), and the first thread I clicked on had this post from Harlemheat:
Quote: As I've said many times, Kobe is by far the best media manipulator in the history of sports..he's the biggest drama queen of all-time, tbh..he knows exactly what he's doing, it's actually quite impressive..
Playing 45+ minutes a game gave him a built-in excuse..
- Receive the credit for playing so many minutes and "willing his team" to the playoffs
- Kobe gets the credit for playing effective, long minutes, but D'Antoni gets the blame if he fails
- If he struggles, the minutes played card is a valid excuse
- It gives the allusion that Kobe needs to carry the Lakers
It was a great plan that was derailed by the injury, tbh..Kobe certainly was shocked, as this is probably the first real injury he has suffered through, but like OP said, now he can add a legendary comeback to the narrative..
Now most people will assume Kobe had to play so much and carry LA with his chucking and they will ignore the fact that he relegated Nash to role player, and that Howard/Gasol complained about him several times..
I don't care if he deserves a chance before he digs his own grave. We all know how this is going to end. Let's just skip to it and save some time.

I will protect your right to have a minority opinion within reason. But I would look poorly on anything that smacks of "rubbing it in", however.
Oh, and you guys really need to seek help with that "tbh" verbal tic you all develop over at Spurstalk...

I don't get the point of posting there anymore, 99% of the board agrees with everything. How in God's name is that a message board? That's a cult. Take this thread for example, someone posted,"Should we make a get well soon card outside of Staples?"

Just a random thought, not sure if has been tossed around.. but i would gladly pitch in to have a huge card outside of staples and fans could come in and sign it.
I know people around here may know other people.. would be cool if ESPN 710am or TWC could help out.
If this idea has been brought up, someone please point me in the right direction. I'd be interested in helping.Back to top
It's very likely the worst NBA message board around. Terrible basketball takes, terrible humans, not funny. Their is literally nothing endearing about that board at all. They exist solely to be mocked by Spur fan essentially, but it's time they go the route of Ol' Kobe Yeller.
C'mon Culb, you know it to be true.
That's what [4K] in bolded means. When I bold a name under a statement that means I'm citing you for total accuracy.
I invented that.
It's actually the creepiest message board I have ever visited, which shouldn't be the case for a basketball forum, tbh..
Half the forum said they cried over Kobe's injury, half of them said they weren't cheering for the Lakers to make the playoffs anymore..
Kobe makes 30 million a year and would probably spit on any of them if they approached him in a private setting, tbh..
That would be Kobe's mistake. Not the fan's mistake. That's the beauty of ~timshel~.
I just realized your infamous line about Kobe 5 and the tired old bag Duncan is officially over isnt it![]()
But in all honesty...Kobe's body gave in...wouldn't that make him....you know...a...tired...old...NM
^ same thing you would do to my if we ran across each other in a crack alley![]()
Only if Duncan went back-to-back starting this June. Otherwise, it's:::
Kobe: 5
the tired old Duncan: 4 or 5
You would pull your out if you saw me privately, tbh?..
Earvin Johnson-ass , tbh..
Har, straightening up at the CPU.
tee, hee.
KoolAIDS, man is truly a sad individual...
most excitement I've seen from you all year...Har with the goods!!!![]()
