Only Kobe would be under the knife less than 24 after. He had nothing better to do.

(CNN) -- Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant will be out for six to nine months after rupturing his Achilles tendon, a Lakers Twitter message said Saturday, citing team trainer Gary Vitti.
The injury occurred Friday against the Golden State Warriors. The news came after Bryan had an MRI.
Asked if the timetable means Bryant will be back next season, Vitti said on Twitter "that's the plan."
A ruptured Achilles could take up to a year to heal, according to Will Carroll, sports injuries lead writer for Bleacher Report. Bryant has previously said that next season could be his last in the NBA. This is the 16th season in the league for the 34-year-old.
Bryant, who averages 27.3 points per game, reacted with disappointment on social media after the injury. On his Facebook page he posted a lengthy update:
"This is such BS! All the training and sacrifice just flew out the window with one step that I've done millions of times! The frustration is unbearable. The anger is rage. Why the did this happen ?!? Makes no damn sense. Now I'm supposed to come back from this and be the same player Or better at 35?!? How in the world am I supposed to do that??
"I have NO CLUE. Do I have the consistent will to overcome this thing? Maybe I should break out the rocking chair and reminisce on the career that was. Maybe this is how my book ends. Maybe Father Time has defeated me."
Later, Bryant called the injury the first step in a new challenge.
"One day, the beginning of a new career journey will commence. Today is NOT that day," he wrote. The post received more than 136,000 likes.
According to an earlier tweet from the Lakers, Bryant could tell what the injury was before seeing a doctor.
"I was just hoping it wasn't what I thought it was," Bryant said, according to the tweet.
The Lakers have two games left in the regular season, both at home. They face the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday and the Houston Rockets on Wednesday.
After beating the Warriors 118-116, the team is one game ahead of the Utah Jazz for the final spot in the NBA's Western Conference playoffs.

Sociopath...MJ was right...Kobe is as cursed as MJ was....dude wants to win so bad...he got surgery within 24hrs of the injury
![]()
Can you imagine him on the phone 6 o'clock this morning with it? lol.
He's switched gears already.
Come backin from an achilles injury at 35, I dunno...?
We're gonna find out.
Question for Koolaid and Thread...would you rather spend 1 night with that girl in Lefy's avatar or this injury didnt happen and the Lakers make the 8th seed?
Good. Even if I don't like him, no superstar should end his career on an injury
I got 8-12 bad es in regular rotation..need something more to tempt me tbh...remember MOB
Trick question, Lakersare...Kool like guys.
Not that there is anything wrong with that, Kool. You're an idiot who can't stand up tall next to DPG, but I would never want you criticized for your sexual preferences. You get enough crap with how utterly dumb you are![]()
Kobe will grind up whatever blue eyed, blonde hair fetuses in Germany he can find and inject that in his achilles. he'll be back, but he probably won't be the same.
Lakers just trying to sell season tickets with that generous diagnosis, tbh.... an Achilles injury is serious especially for older players, Kirby will never be the same....
Per Gary Vitti's estimate, which is beyond optimistic and most like a PR move to salvage season ticket sales.
A more realistic timetable is 12-14 months. Kobe had a complete rupture. No way in he's ready opening day.
I can't imagine if Kobe comes back worse..He literally could not be dragged into the playoffs with a super stacked team. He had no margin for error with regards to his play and if he's worse LA becomes a punching bag for the West.
If Kobe wants to do whats best for the Lakers he'd just retire. That way that don't have to amnesty him, or pay him 30 mil + luxury tax for sub-par chucking. Plus if he's out of the picture Duh-wight will be more likely to resign
You may have some bad es lined up but I guarantee they aint none lookin like that
you're thinking objectively. once Lakers are a punching bag and Kobe is still destroying the team with his ego, the NBA will have some lopsided trade to salvage Kobe's chances at a sixth ring.
Read on IH, that there have been 29 complete achilles tear in NFL, NBA, NHL and MLB. 27 of those player never played again. 2 played at greatly reduced levels.
Wilkins and Billups are two major NBA players who suffered an achilles tear, but neither of their tear were complete. Kobe suffered a way worse injury.
He'll average 4 points and .6 boards the rest of his career.
she's ok...I'm guessin that's the best looking woman you've ever seen let alone dreamed about ing...dude I've been through some pussy and with s look equal to and better than her...that face is not all that impressive
Thats if they get a Shaq level center who will make Kobe wide open
another thing...I didn't want to post this out of respect of him being a Laker but I'm fair...it appears some of you may be right about Magic...in this vid he says and I quote: "I've been involved with the gay movement for a long time." Then he tried to clean it up...too funny I had to share..sorry Laker Nation

Kobe actually deserves credit for getting the surgery ASAP. I don't understand why athletes wait on the surgery for a few weeks.
