Damn. Spurs as secretive as ever.

Like the signing. A veteran who still has some game left. Provides some depth and can play some small ball 4 if necessary. Size and passing skills.

A desperate move from a desperate franchise, nothing more.
I agree with this. Spurs are desperate, but at the same time, I like this. They want to get out of the 1st round, otherwise they would have signed a Toros for insurance and stayed put.

This move just shows they are desperate, but they won't go down fighting

Imagine the tv ratings Spurs game 1 this weekend will have

ESPN is already blowing up with this news

If Pop's plan is to use him as a small balls pf then yes it does.
So stupid. We have 1 SF and 5 guys who can play the 4 and your concern is T-Mac getting minutes at PF? ing idiot.

Will he be ready and suit up against the T-Wolves tomorrow? I'm sure if he does, all the unsuspecting Spurs fans in the arena will be like WTF?

Honestly what do you think of the signing? Think he has anything left or can help us in any way?

! That 1st round curse he brings is just too scary to look at considering the Spurs already looked like a 1st round exit without him

As long as he doesn't hurt the team more than he helps

    Disagree on both counts.

A franchise that has won 4 championships isn't a desperate franchise. A desperate franchise is the Dallas Mavs doing everything they can to finally win a ring in 2011 and don't resign Chandler and others to try to repeat. That's desperate.

The move isn't desperate either. There was a need and he was the best option in order to have a player for the playoffs. It's actually a low risk/high reward move. And that's isn't desperate to me.

    Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah ahahaha!

If I wasn't a Spurs fan I'd be trolling the out us right now. Good god, we just signed one of the greatest losers in NBA history!

What is with the FO's/Pop's obsession with signing old guys that have torched us in the past?

Except Mcgrady can pass. Good rebounder, good scorer, played well off the bench for Atlanta last year.

    Looked done 3 years ago.
Never bothered play any noticeable defense in his best years.
Never won a single PO series.
Couldn't get a contract in a decent league all year.

Called to fit in a "complicated system" (citation).

Possibly the most un-Spurs-like signining of the Popovich era.
To me, it just shows how desperate Popovich is, and how bad the overall Spurs situation has gotten, from multiple point of views.

yup. and Manu must look real bad and might not even come back.

still, don't blame Spurs for trying desperate moves
