I was going to say the say the same thing BR. D'antoni is the fall guy, but Stern gave Kobe the false hope by inflating that team's overall efficacy with officiating. Kobe of course saw the green light to chuck away and ended up ruining his health. You can't give players like Kobe a false sense of worth or validation since they're constantly seeking it.

Basketball god is still a Laker fan. 00, 02, and 10, all with curious discrepancies in FTAs during Laker elimination games in the 4th quarter during a Laker come-back win. There may be some teams in NBA history that had a game or two like that during meaningless regular season games, but 3 playoff elimination games, two in the WCF (which was essentially the finals back in the day because the East sucked), and one in the finals?
